Hello

my set up is ALMOST complete.. just trying to tweak a few finishing touches.

like using only my controller, i have a start up script working, i found how to exit emulator with a key press, i assigned the "B" button on my 360 controller, but.. it wont save with the "hold" box checked, id like it to be set up so that the B button exits after being depressed for 2-3 seconds.

thats 3000 for 3 seconds?

it just wont save though.

can it not be done due to some ahk files?

If i have to settle for just one button to use.. ive read other people use the right stick "push down".. that just worries me for accidentaly closing the game with overly button happy people, little people. like nephews. lol

edit: ive just set it up to close with right click on the thumbstick for now.. now my only issue is this doesnt work with epsxe emulator :(

i only use a few, and only will be adding a few more.

So im assuming epsxe doesnt work with the exit command the way the rest do.. maybe theres another playstation emu that does?

id rather not use xpadder, its so complicated to use.. for multi emulator use*

Xpadder doesn't have to be complicated. You can use the same standard profile for all systems if you want (you don't have to assign any buttons to keys if you don't want to). My advice would be just set 'left analogue up' + 'back button'=exits emulators as the most basic approach to using Xpadder. This seems least likely to exit a game by accident in my opinion.

The advantage to using Xpadder to assign more keys means that you can make both the analogue and d-pad work for your direction buttons for Genesis, SNES, Game Boy Advance etc. when emulatos don't offer this option. It's pretty easy.

Sorry I can't offer help with the startup script method. It's not something I've ever used.

I haven't ever used any scripts, just a program called AntiMicro for my Hyperspin navigation profiles, that once you make them, can be automatically applied to the controllers everytime it's started up. On my xbox360 controller I have it set to press ESC key when the "back", or as I like to still refer to it, select button is held down for .9 seconds. Works everytime. I have similar profiles with hold for ESC key for my NES usb, PS2 controller USB, and Gamecube USB controllers. No hitches so far.

The other advantage of AntiMicro is that you can set the Guide button to do things, unlike any other keymapper I've tried (xpadder, joytokey, autohotkey). Makes a great exit button!

Weird, maybe that's a Games for Windows Live thing? I don't have that crap installed anymore since all the games I care about that used to use it stripped it out.
