    The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

    We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. if this is in the wrong forum i truly am sorry. i have built my hyper spin arcade machine back in 08' and i would love to upgrade some games, wheel art, etc etc mostly for MAME. I have tried to add crime fighters to my gamelist, hyper wheel, etc etc. but when i tried to add it to the proper folders MAME crashes every time i try to load MAME from my artwheel. Can someone please help me with a refresher on this. i would love to upgrade my unit! please and thank you! i have downloaded everything i need for each game i want to add, just can't remember how to add anything without crashing my unit.

Thank you,

Damien

hi are you just trying to add 1 game to your list? if so ,place the game (rom ) in the rom folder should be in zip format if its a mame game....then go to your mame database folder,open with notepad and create a game link,be careful not to mess with anything else...

an example below:

you want to add the game crimefighters:

1.place rom zip game in rom folder

2.Go to database folder and create a new link an example here..

</game>

<game name="crimefighters" index="true" image="6">

<description>crimefighters(USA)</description>

<cloneof>

</cloneof>

<crc>1a6f45dc</crc>

<manufacturer>Sega</manufacturer>

<year>1996</year>

<genre>Miscellaneous</genre>

<rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating>

<enabled>Yes</enabled>

so make sure your rom name matches your database creation name , ie crimefighters

3.add your database and save it (make sure everything matches and you haven't messed with anything else).

4.if you have a wheel image,video,snap,background that match your game,place them in the media folder that matches the mame game you created

5.see if game loads.

That's kinda my noobie way of doing it,but that's just for one game....I am a novice myself and learning,someone might make that much easier but since you aint getting replies,ill throw my hat in...

Don't matter what people say,this is difficult to setup...

it's easy to setup, you just need to know your foldere structure ;) and why does he needs to add a game to his mame.xml all mame games are already in there. so no need to add it again.

if he wants to add games he just needs to add the wheel to his wheel folder and a theme to his theme folder and it will show up.

First things first.

Do you have MAME with the whole romset? and what version?

and what HS version are your running? because the old HS uses a different theme stucture
