helltick1
Hi Guys, Just wanted to say thanks for the front end. I use it exclusively for Mame and have had a blast setting everything up. I lurked around for a portable solution of HS. I found you can have relative paths to usb flash drives. I love the original Xbox controller layout, and the fact that it's a usb hub with a controller attached. I installed a 6' usb cable and 8GB internal flash memory. I found this to be the most portable solution since it will work on any windows laptop/desktop. Once plugged in shows up as mass storage, just like a thumb drive. To activate the controller just install the one click driver installer (XBCD). http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html#download Nothing is installed to host PC except the controller driver. Works on any windows machine I throw at it. Here is a pic of the old "big duke". Just use these diagrams. In settings, set MAME to: [exe info] path=..\HyperSpin\Emulators\Mame\ rompath=..\HyperSpin\Emulators\Mame\roms\ userompath = false exe=mame.exe romextension = zip parameters = searchsubfolders = false pcgame = false winstate = HIDDEN hyperlaunch=true Love this shit...portable controller with everything built in. Games/Themes/Videos/Wheel Art/Settings/button mapping...All setup, every time you plug the controller in. Robotron with two thumbsticks kicks ass. At any rate, just thought I'd share. I use to modify Xbox consoles and have a shit ton of these controllers. Very simple to do. Thank You very much for the front end. Cheers!
HazzardActual
cool idea dude, care to show a video of it in action? Did you wire that usb stick in parallel?
helltick1
I have a SNES controller I did the same thing with. Yeah, it ain't rocket science...I needed two thumbsticks for Robotron. Xbox controller is a USB hub...I connected a flash drive (internally). Here is a phone vid of the controller plugged in to a win7 laptop. Works great!
