esoteric Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 In case you're not familiar, there is an awesome arcade game with great graphics called "Savage Quest." You play as a dinosaur and you can eat people and fight other dinosaurs. It's still unplayable (considered a "skeleton") in MAME .160 and there doesn't appear to be any recent progress on getting it to work. Here is the story so far: https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/savquest.c What do you think the odds are that someone will eventually get this beast working? http://www.reddit.com/r/HyperSpin/
Styphelus Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Oh well. With over 3000 Mame games and hundreds of thousands of other games in dozens of other systems, I can't say I will miss this one particular game.
esoteric Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 I think the main problem is this: H/W is a white-box PC consisting of: Pentium II 450 CPU DFI P2XBL motherboard (i440BX chipset) 128 MB RAM Guillemot Maxi Gamer 3D2 Voodoo II Sound Blaster AWE64 Protected by a HASP brand parallel port dongle. I/O board has a PIC17C43 which is not readable. http://www.reddit.com/r/HyperSpin/
