Mame Resolution and HLSL

Finally got around to setting up Mame properly. However I noticed that in certain newer games with higher resolutions like Ridge Racer, the HLSL effects don't look as good.

Is there any way to fix that?

About a quarter of the way down the page, Ziggy100 posts some pretty good screenshots of Tekken 3 by tweaking the pre-scale. Not sure what rig you're using in your setup...will take some serious horsepower to drive at a decent frame-rate.
