griffin518
Hi All, First off I should say thanks. This is a great community and I've been having a lot of fun working on my project and cannot say enough about how helpful everyone has been. I've been tinkering for weeks now and I feel like I'm getting to the point where I know the ins and outs of the system (incl RL) very well. So I've been toying with the idea of creating a separate wheel for small-kid-safe MAME games (pacman, frogger, etc) since I have several small children at home. For me, time/effort is not the issue... my number one priority is easy of use (from a cabinet perspective) followed closely by having the separate wheel feel natural within the system. It occurred to me that there might be two ways of doing this, or perhaps more, and so I thought I'd ask for advice. Following are the options I came up with. Duplicate the mame wheel: How simple is this to do? Obviously it would have a different name, but are there any implications to this beyond having a separate xml or ROM directory? I suppose I'd need to manually copy over themes, artwork, etc. Add the kids games to "favorites", then swap categories in the system so that "favorites" was displayed as "all games" under the existing MAME wheel. This way I could just go to the categories menu to view all the games, but this seems inelegant. Thoughts? I'm interested to hear about other options or opinions. Thanks! potts43
Check out hyperspinxml you add it to hyperspin like a system or works as standalone . Basically it allows you to search across all systems or single system and create custom wheels. You can add to or edit the games at will. It's very good. You don't have to make it a system just use it as standalone if u prefer.

griffin518
Looks cool, but I ended up going with another wheel. It just ended up being less complicated; easier to maintain over time. Thanks!
