Anyone get the the Intel 2500 or 4000 to work with Hyperspin 1.3.x yet?

I really don't want to rebuild my cab computer just because of this...

It's a lost cause, Intel's gfx chipset sucks. Save yourself time and a headache and buy the card I referenced earlier in this thread. Problem solved and you will enjoy Hyperspin 1.3 to its fullest potential :)

I would buy a card if I could, but my arcade PC doesn't support anything like that.

I have a Lenovo M92P Tiny.

http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/tiny-desktop.html

I've tried two different USB video cards, but they just split the Intel HD graphics to multiple external sources, they don't actually create a new video card/driver.

I know it's not a priority for BBB, but I don't and won't buy the fact that this is an Intel graphics issue. I can double click a MP4 and it play in Media Player, therefore, it is NOT the Intel video driver causing the issue, but rather HS's implementation of that video format. Since I can play the MP4 video externally to HS, the issue must have to do with the way HS is calling the video file.

I don't know if HS is trying to do more than just play the video, i.e. Use it's own codec? Apply some smoothing? Change bitrate? etc.

I'll continue to check this thread every so often for an update because I will not replace my Ivy Bridge i5 arcade computer because of this.

On a side note, I have all my HS files on an external drive and can play the video files through HS on my main computer with an Nvidia card in it.

Hey guys. I just joined the forums recently as I am in the process of building my first cabinet. I have been testing and configuring on my main machine at home and planned to transfer to an HP 6000 pro desktop, then I came across this thread. I was extremely concerned as the desktop I was going to use has the intel 4500HD chipset for video. However, I loaded up my HS build last night and everything ran great. Well, not Dolphin as that requires some 3D driver that the Intel doesn't have but there was no purple, MP4s played perfectly throughout my wheels and everything ran very smooth.

With the issues everyone is seeing, did everthing work well at first and fade later? Should I expect it to stop working soon?

I am running an HP 6000 Pro, 8GB RAM (only sees 4 though), 160GB drive, built fresh with 32-bit Windows 7, Office 2010, free adobe software. That is it (as well as the Windows updates). The drivers are defaulted from what is installed by my Windows 7 with SP1 install disk, although I do remember a Windows update to the driver coming through that I may have installed. Maybe we can use my machine as a reference to help figure some things out. if I can pull driver version numbers, files, etc, let me know and I will do what I can to help those of us running the Intel graphics.

Thanks, Rich

I got excited until I realized the the intel 4500mhd chipset isn't related to the 3000hd and 4000hd which are included with the newer sandy and ivy processors. It's an older standalone chipset. 3d performance will be almost nil. It's only the newer intel integrated graphics that are not compatible

Does anyone know if the new Intel HD 4600 GPU included with Intel's 4th generation Haswell processors will play MP4s through HyperSpin? I'm debating about getting either an A10-6800K or an i7-4770K, and would prefer the latter if it will be compatible. I will be going very small with this build, so adding another card is going to be out of the question. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Add another with hd4000 graphics and garbled video previews. Am using an intel nuc mini pc the i3 one with dual hdmi. Emulators all work great but preview video is a no go. And since all files play fine in vlc I would say its a hyperspin video player problem not a hd4000 driver issue.

Well, considering that the Intel HD 4000 chip-set is the ONLY chip-set to have issues reported, kinda shows that its an issue with the chip-set itself. The video playback engine is a plug-in nothing there to be fixed.

Well I just got the HD4000 setup. The videos player perfectly fine in windows media player, just not in HS. Sounds like a HS issue to me.

I wrote a little tool to help automate the video conversion on one of my machines. If anyone is interested, you can pick it up on the FTP @ /Upload Here/synakcm/video re-encoder (requires .NET 4.0)

Also has an option to convert your .flv to .mp4 if you'd like to save space.

Sorry where is the FTP?

Would really like to download this.

Thanks

Running the HD 2500 here and no room for a PCIE card.

Any way to disable the videos or run .FLV or have a version of hyperspin without preview videos?

The intro video is FLV but the FLV isn't supported for preview videos.

Tried to edit the XML file to remove the preview but it didn't like it and not found any real solid answer yet.

Actually flash videos was resupported in Hyperspin 1.3.2 or a few updates before.. Or like Frosty said you could always use .png That's what I use on PC games with no videos..

Just ended up with replacing the main videos from each console with a screenshot from the most popular game. Thanks for the heads up on using PNG's.

do I put the png's into ...media/mame/video? Because I did but they are not showing up. Help appreciated cheers. Photo filenames match rom filenames.

Yes just make sure there named exact. Can't remember right now if there's anything else. At a football game at the moment.

Make sure your video path is set in your hyperHQ
