The Faceless King Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 So this is a long shot, but has anyone managed to configure a script that is capable of launching Zelda Four Swords Adventure (for the GC) configured to launch VBA as well to play multiplayer. It's a favorite of mine that seems like a brilliant fit on the arcade I just recently started toying with. (I'm be posting up some details on that in a bit) I've been working with getting my Hyperspin setup for a couple weeks now, picking at it when I have some time. This is one thing that would make me really happy to get working though. Thanks, Glenn
mameshane Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 i dont know if this is what you mean, but have you seen the vba link module at the bottom of this page it allows 4 players at once. My Cab.. 1-UP ARCADE new hyperspin irc details.. come hang out!
The Faceless King Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 That is for four instances of VBA (which I also need to get working) this is different. This will entail launching a Gamecube emulator as well as multiple instances of VBA at the same time, loading the iso in the GC emulator, and having the VBA connect to the GC emulator as controllers. (I was intending to have it set up in such a way as to have either 2 GBA's along one side, or if 4 player (which to be honest I doubt I'll need often) 2 on either side of the main GC screen. I'm trying to replicate this video essentially. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPI2A1si0Ys
djvj Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If there wasn't a video showing it's possible, my answer would of been "I doubt you can do that." I never knew they programmed in the joybus. That's pretty cool that they can talk to each other. I must say, you are on your own with getting a script to do that. I hope you don't expect it to do the throttle juggling either. When you work on this, start small, first get it launching all the emus and setting the correct options if not right. The Faceless King Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Unfortunately, I am about as programming capable as a drunken monkey. I can't even figure out how to get half the normal scripts working that people are using. However, I will still see what I an learn, and possibly this will motivate me to figure out how to do it. So perhaps if anyone wrote tutorials on scripting reference would help so I can try and get things like that figured out.
The Faceless King Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 I did do some test runs to try and get the program to actually play without hyperspin. I did get two player to work (though I controlled both characters at teh same time as they had the same controls set up. Here is a couple screen shots showing that it does work (though it is very slow on my laptop, but it obviously has nothing for video power) This is a rough idea of what the script needs to specify Launch Dolphin - Controllers 1, 2, 3, and 4 are GBA's - Load Four Swords Adventure - Position the Window - Remove as many of the bars as possible Launch VBA-M - Load GBA-Bios.bin - Position the Window and hide all the toolbars possible Repeat Launch VBA-M based on the number of players It's actually nothing super complicated once configured.
Haaze Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Has anyon gotten anywhere with this. I will try later tonight, but this would be a great addition.
