newoski
Hi Guys, I've been searching and unable to find a comprehensive list of systems that can be setup/controls mapped to work with an arcade control panel / with XBOX controller. The goal here is the truly functional systems -- for example, some games can be setup on MS-DOS (same for ScummVM), but both are only truly functional when played with a keyboard. Here's my list of systems I have working. Hoping others can add to it: AAE Amstrad GX4000 Atari 2600 Atari 5200 (some games require numpad inputs) Atari 7800 Atari Jaguar (some games require numpad inputs) Atari Lynx Bandai WonderSwan Bandai WonderSwan Color Commodore Amiga CD32 Creatronic Mega Duck Daphne Doujin Games Epoch Super Cassette Vision Funtech Super Acan Future Pinball HBMAME Locomalito Games MAME MUGEN NEC PC Engine NEC PC Engine-CD NEC PC-FX NEC SuperGrafx NEC TurboGrafx-16 NEC TurboGrafx-CD Nintendo 64 (w/ XBOX controller) Nintendo Entertainment System Nintendo Famicom Nintendo Famicom Disk System Nintendo Game Boy Nintendo Game Boy Advance Nintendo Game Boy Color Nintendo GameCube (w/ XBOX controller) Nintendo Pokemon Mini Nintendo Satellaview Nintendo SuFami Turbo Nintendo Super Famicom Nintendo Super Game Boy Nintendo Virtual Boy OpenBOR PacMAME Panasonic 3DO PC Games (w/ XBOX controller) Pinball FX2 Sammy Atomiswave Sega 32X Sega CD Sega Dreamcast (w/ XBOX controller) Sega Game Gear Sega Genesis Sega Mark III Sega Master System Sega Mega Drive 32X Sega Model 2 Sega Naomi Sega Saturn Sega SG-1000 SNK Neo Geo SNK Neo Geo CD SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color Sony PlayStation (w/ XBOX controller) Sony PlayStation 2 (w/ XBOX controller) Sony PlayStation Minis (w/ XBOX controller) Sony PSP (w/ XBOX controller) Super Nintendo Entertainment System Taito Type X Visual Pinball Water Supervision Hope someone finds this helpful and others can contribute. Agrajag
The Jaguar joypad also has a number pad that is used to select weapons etc. Looks good otherwise.
Imagamejunky
I'm confused by your post. Are you trying to list systems that are compatible with an arcade control panel (buttons and a key encoder) OR with an xbox controller? Or both?
newoski
Hi imagamejunky, The goal is to come up with a list that are compatible with both, really. First priority is cabinet. Second priority is XBOX 360. For example, I wouldn't exclude PS1, PS2 etc from the list, even though there aren't usually enough buttons on the cabinet for the L / R shoulder buttons. I would exclude the Apple II though, because that really requires a true keyboard/mouse. Make sense?
Imagamejunky
Got it. My opinions.. A lot of cabinets DO have enough buttons for ps1/2, etc. I'm running 8 myself. But most console games I'm finding that are easily playable on a cab don't really use more than 4 main buttons anyway. Your system list may be tough to label/interpret as there are a ton of games on any given system that play nicely with arcade buttons and a ton that play better with a controller. Furthermore, you may need to take into consideration digital vs analog joysticks in the cab control panel. Example, Yesterday my son was easily playing crash racing on PSP/retroarch with digital arcade controls. But you wouldn't easily play PSP first person shooters without a controller with analogs. Hope this makes sense. Junky
newoski
Right, that's where the XBOX 360 controller comes into play. Any systems beyond what I already listed that come to mind as compatible?
Imagamejunky
The only ones I can think of right now are Sega Model 3 Sega/Nintendo/Namco Triforce Zinc
