Where does HL store it's HLSL settings?

I'm running MAMEUIFX, being called by HL via HS.

 

I'm trying to adjust the HLSL setting using the tab menu, works fine. But where are these saved? I've even removed my \MAMEUIFX\ini\mame.ini file to see if that breaks it, but it doesn't. The weird thing is that any contrast or gamma changes seem to be retained, but screen curvature isn't.

 

Not sure if this makes sense... but what I'm most interested in is getting the curvature setting to stick.
