dozzie
Hi there guys!I just thought I'd check in and say hi to you all now that I've become a donator to Hyperspin and Emumovies!I've been really digging Hyperspin over the past few days but I seem to be having a bit of a strange problem that I'd like to see if any of you knew an answer to!So basically, I've got Hyperspin setup and working with all of my ROMs as I've configured both the Emulators and the ROM libraries in Hyperlaunch HQ which is working a treat!I thought that I'd invest in Hypersync in order to get all of the artwork etc. for each of the consoles that I'm emulating.. After downloading media for any console I find that I'm getting an error message from Hyperspin saying that it can't find the specified ROM that I'm trying to open.. Which I find to be quite strange as the error message actually displays the name of the ROM AND it's correct filepath! From what I can tell, this is some kind of strange database issue..If I do a Sync with Hypersync and then go back into Hyperlaunch HQ I find that the ROMs for the specified console are now appearing red... and if I rebuild my ROM database for the specified console in Hyperlaunch HQ I then lose all media flashiness for that console in Hyperspiin!Sorry for the longwindedness of this post! I hope that someone has an easy fix for this as I've been racking my brains over the past few hours trying to fix it!!Cheers! :

Any help is greatly appreciated guys!If you need any further explanation please just let me know!
gigapig
Is that error message coming from HyperSpin or HyperLaunch? You probably need to add the Rom extension to the list in HyperLaunchHQ under Global. It will depend on the system and whether the zip needs extracting or not, Mame will be just zip|7z|chd, something like MESS will have a very long list of extensions. If that doesn't fix things please post your logs.
Dunk3000
Dozzie, your problem is that for everything to work in hyperspin, everything needs to be named the same. By the sounds of it, you have built your own games database files in HLHQ. This works fine to launch games because each database entry is built with the name of each rom, but it won't work with media because they are all named differently. To simplify this, Hyperspin have official databaes showing everyone the correct names to use for each system - that way all of our assets are interchangeable as all named to this official convention. When you use hypersync it downloads the most up to date official database for each system, and all the artwork it downloads is als named to match these official databases. The reason you updating to the official databases is breaking everything for you is because your roms are not named the same as the OFFICIAL names. So when using the OFFICAL database neither hyperspin or HLHQ can find them as they do not have the name(s) it is looking for - hence the red in audits and errors when trying to launch. Easiest thing to do is to synchronise with hypersync, then go and rename your roms to the new databases you now have. Sounds like a total pain, but it only needs doing once and is much easier than renaming ALL the artwork to match your roms. If you go to the download section you will find a set of software tools called "Don's HyperSpin Tools" that for many romsets can even do all the rom renaming automatically. I would suggest always using the OFFICIAL databases when available, and only using the HLHQ way of building databases from yuor rom collection for systems that do not have an OFFICIAL database. Hope this helps
