Funkyphresh Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 This has nothing to do with Hyperspin but I was wondering if anyone out there are currently able to run the classic game WWF Superstars on their version of Mame? I have tried over 10 different versions from 0.135 to 0.160 but to no avail, I keep getting the same message on every one of them "missing rom or chd". I'm using the Europe version of the rom which is the parent rom and my BIOS files but still get nothing. I find it weird because I can run the game Wrestlefest without any problem and both games are from Technōs....I'd love to have this classic game working in Hyperspin...if I could just get it working with MAME first!
Funkyphresh Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Hey Jeremy, appreciate the reply and Well, my source where I get my roms from usually hint that the rom needs a CHD and even attaches a DL link to the CHD under the rom and there's none with WWF Superstars so I figured CHD's are not needed for it. May I ask what version you're able to get it going on?
Funkyphresh Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Yeah I'd assume so but I'll give .161 a shot as I've only tried .160 and .162...I'm afraid I won't be able to rest until I got this game running, cheers.
Funkyphresh Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 161 WORKS! And it may be the only version that in fact works with that game....I've tried so many versions, geez. I probably would of never got it working if I hadn't asked here and I'd buy ya a beer if I could, man.
zerojay Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 That game has worked since the dawn of time. You probably didn't have the correct ROM set.
jackhammersalm Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 when you run emulators with different romsets you are more than likely going to run into rom changes The Hyperspin Report writer/editor
resident grouch, Hyperspin facebook modorator
for those who want to read my work
http://thehyperspinreport.blogspot.co.uk
