gr0bda Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 So I get an error when launching either psyvaria or psyvarrv (see attached pic) but I do have those roms and they launch correctly through mameui64 Mame.xml database seem to be correct, then what gives?? </game> <game image="" index="" name="psyvaria"> <description>Psyvariar -Medium Unit- (V2.04J)</description> <cloneof/> <crc/> <manufacturer>Success</manufacturer> <year>2000</year> <genre>Shoot-'Em-Up</genre> <rating>AAMA - Green (Suitable For All Ages)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game image="" index="" name="psyvarrv"> <description>Psyvariar -Revision- (V2.04J)</description> <cloneof/> <crc/> <manufacturer>Success</manufacturer> <year>2000</year> <genre>Shoot-'Em-Up</genre> <rating>AAMA - Green (Suitable For All Ages)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> EDIT: Just realized I'm looking at .chd file, but I AM missing rom files EDIT2: Wait a minute, but it does launch through mameUI64!!! What the heck!?
nimpa Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I have placed all chd folders in the same folder as the torrent splitted mame roms.. Dont know if that causes the error u got?
gr0bda Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 You just updated RL recently didn't you? There is a problem right now with it adding a period to file names. Keep looking out today for an update to correct it. As a matter of fact I have not updated RL in at least couple of weeks if not more and when I got that error I fired up RL to see if I messed up rom paths and RL notified me about new updates, so I JUST updated it couple of hour ago. I wonder if that was old update or the new one you talking about? EDIT: I just checked and there was another update from RL but that didn't fix the issue. mameUI64 can launch it and Hyperspin+RL cannot. EDIT2: Just found another one with the same issue Ray Crisis
gr0bda Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Just installed latest database, still no go. Anyone any ideas?
bleasby Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Check if you have skip checks enabled for roms on the Mame system inside RLUI. Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
gr0bda Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Post on the rlauncher forum. You think this is an issue more related to RL than HS?
gr0bda Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Check if you have skip checks enabled for roms on the Mame system inside RLUI. Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk I don't really understand what you are talking about there. Just wanted to point out that for some reason only those 3 games (that I noticed) don't work in HS (yet they work in mameui64). Other games that use .chd files like Maximum Force, Area 51 or Gauntlet Legends launch just fine. What bothers me is the inconsistencies.
bleasby Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I don't really understand what you are talking about there. RocketLauncher (RL) always check if you have the emulator executable and the rom file at the paths that you provided for all systems. However, some systems do not use necessarily a rom file named after the game that you want to play. That is the case of MAME for many chd games and a some normal games. To avoid the error msg that is given when RL checks for the inexistent rom file on that case, you need to change the option skip checks on RocketLauncherUI (RLUI). In order to do this, open you RLUI.exe, select the MAME system on the left pane, select the tab Settings, the subtab Main Settings and inside it find the option Skip Checks. Set this option to "Roms Only". This and muich more additional information are described on the emulator module notes provided on RocketLauncher. If you follow its instructions you should have all emulators and systems perfectly configured on your setup.
