Dime333 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I am using an X-arcade and I have noticed that the controls for Octopus and Manhole is not working right. I'm not sure Manhole can be fixed since the controls for that one is a little special.
Tomkun Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Is there a method to launch the emulators built into retroarch? It may solve some of the controller issues.
diskmach Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Thanks for this Romano. Although...am I missing something or am I just thick in the head? How is this supposed to work with a XBox 360 controller? I´ve read through all of this and still don´t get it. Unfortunately I can´t seem to be able to use Joy2Key in Windows 10, either. And I don´t feel like making individual profiles for 100+ games... I'm not sure Manhole can be fixed since the controls for that one is a little special. I managed to remap the controls for manhole. It would be great if this could be added to the launcher. Or maby there should be a specific keymap for this game in the ini so you can use any four buttons. left and up = q left and down = a right and up = p right and down =l Up & Left:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{q DownTemp} return Up & Left up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{q Up} return Left & Up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{q DownTemp} return Left & Up up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{q Up} return Down & Left:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{a DownTemp} return Down & Left up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{a Up} return Left & Down:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{a DownTemp} return Left & Down up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{a Up} return Up & Right:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{p DownTemp} return Up & Right up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{p Up} return Right & Up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{p DownTemp} return Right & Up up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{p Up} return Down & Right:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{l DownTemp} return Down & Right up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{l Up} return Right & Down:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{l DownTemp} return Right & Down up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{l Up} return

I'm not sure Manhole can be fixed since the controls for that one is a little special. Ok i've fixed Qwerty error for Manhole , but for Octopus i don't find error... Does the game "SpaceBridge" works fine for you ? (it's the same controls) Is there a method to launch the emulators built into retroarch? It may solve some of the controller issues. You can set-up this emulator to do not activated the 'home made joy2key" integrated. I don't know if somebody have already used this emulator into retroarch but all information for set-up are in first post. If necessary the app can be run by command line you juste have to type : "HyperElectronicGames.exe AirportPanic", (or any game name listed on package) Thanks for this Romano. Hi , i use also an xbox controller , as i said before , this emulator integrate an home made joy2key mapper for all games, you just need to set-up the "HyperElectronicGames.ini" file as explained in first post or inside read-me from package. I've not tested this emulator in Windows 10 , so i don't know if it's works or not. r0man0
Dime333 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Thanks for checking it out. I just tested Space Bridge and it's the same with that one. It seems like game A and Game B buttons are not mapped in those games. Nothing happens when I press My buttons mapped in the ini. The left and right buttons work though.
diskmach Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks for your answer Romano. Think I got it working. I was a bit confused by the options with Joy2key and the JoyNumber. Now I have JoyNumber=1, Joy2Key=1 and azerty=0. Then I had to consider my own particular controller setup, see here: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/14216-setup-xbox-360-controller-with-padstarr-for-all-of-hyperspin/ So I needed to setup exclusions for every game, as mentioned in my post. (See Read-Me.txt/installation /9) Romano, start button (I mean A or B button) on Xbox 360 controller doesn´t seem to work on "Popeye". Stick is working ingame though. r0man0 Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Sorry , i've uploaded bad executable inside package 0.9.6.(Tamagotchi bad emulation) New package have been uploaded & updated.(same name : HyperElectronicGamesPack_0.9.6) For those who have already dowloaded the package 0.9.6 & want just the updated executable (385ko) : https://mega.nz/#!fQgXTYzI!BBbLwdbD6OfdLZnK_PuGhojLNfAw6dnmvsgYr20dFj4 r0man0
Dime333 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 OK. Two things on my mind. On my cab, I'm using Player 2 Start button (mapped to M key) as my Exit Emulator key, so I have this in the ini: ExitKey=+m My Player 1 Start button is mapped to Enter, so i have this in the ini: ButtonStartXarcade=Enter I would like to use: "ButtonSelectXarcade=m" while still using "ExitKey=+m" so I can choose Game A with P1 Start and Game B with P2 Start. Is this doable? I know you can do similar things in Rocketlauncher using "~m" but I'm not sure it can be done here. I have noticed that when using "EnableXarcade=1" the buttons that are mapped are beeing pressed rapidly over and over. So if I hold "Left" I can see that the left button is kind of flashing because it's being pressed and let go all the time. My X-Arcade is mapped to the arrow keys already so I worked around this by simply not mapping Up, Left, Down and Right. However, I think this breaks games like Manhole that is not using the arrow keys to move around, Am I right? Maby you can look into this when you get a chance. I love your work on this. Thanks.

Hotkeys cannot be the same if you use "ButtonSelectXarcade=m" while still using "ExitKey=+m" just one of them will works. But both problem can be resolved by using the new option "onstart" & "onexit" if you used a program like xpadder to map keys. create a new profile for this emulator that will be launched "onstart" and reload your "hyperspin" profile on exit. r0man0
Dime333 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm actually not using profiles at all. The mappings are hardcoded to keypresses in the X-arcade itslef. I just want to exit this system the same way as I exit all other systems. This is the only one that is not using RL. You took care of that wonderfully with the hold exit update. I think I'll just skip the Game B button. Game A is enough for me. I'm using onstart and onexit to launch and kill a AHK keymapping script now. My X-Arcade uses the A, B and T buttons (which are the built in buttons for Game A, Game B and Time on most games) so that messed up the controls. It would send keypresses to several keys at once. I simply remapped the A B and T buttons in the script to fix that. If the repeated keypresses isn't fixable, I guess I'll just remove Manhole and any other games with the same controls. That's not a big problem. I forgot to mention that the repeated keypresses makes it hard to move around in some games. Sometimes the movement will not register If I just tap the joystick. I have to hold it for a while. I know I'm asking a lot here, but I think I just thought of something that would solve my problem. If I could use different onstart and onexit for different games I could use different AHK keymappings for manhole and any other games that has different controls. That would be super super awesome. It's just super awesome at the moment
Dime333 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I just had another idea. I think I can make my Ahk script detect if Manhole is running and change the keymapping if that is the case. I love tinkering with stuff like this :-D
r0man0 Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 I've found an issue to your problem I will give you a link to a new executable version beta to test soon... rOmanO

r0man0 Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 here ' s the link for the beta executable to test (HyperElectronicGames_0.9.7beta.exe) : https://mega.nz/#!iIomFYSb!ltIv3ZasCC22TMeqcZmPQYp2sXmLn5-UAWRpRl2bbpw First replace the previous executable with the newer then test if both problems are solved ( repeated keypresses & double hotkey ) r0man0
Dime333 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Oh my god!!! you are the man. Both repeated keypresses & double hotkeys are fixed. How did you do the double hotkey thing? Up, down, left and right no longer repeat but all the buttons still do though. Even Manhole works, but the Left-Up and Left-Down are reversed. You are close to perfection now. Back to work! Edit: Oh, I forgot. Could you hide the mouse cursor? That would be great.
Dime333 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I found some more game issues. The "shoot" buttons are not working in Bomb Fight, Hippo Teeth (Large) and Isidoro & Sonja - Cessate il Fuoco. In Flagman, no matter what button I use, The game presses "Game B". Dizzy's Cash in doesn't seem to accept AHK keymapping so I think I'll remove it from my DB. It should still work fine for people who use gamepads I guess. I also get this when trying to run Isidoro & Sonja - Caccia al Ladro. I hope I'm not discouraging you with these suggestions. It's just that i love Perfection Edit: On closer Inspection, Dizzy's Cash In does accept AHK Keymapping. Maby you forgot to do the mapping on that one?
