hyperdennis Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 HI all, i have a working hyperspin setup with mame working - Yaj! Now i am trying to setup my SNES list trouble is that everything is setup right but when i try to do an audit in HyperLaunchHQ, none of the games are found. And i've checked, double checked, triple checked if the rom path to the SNES games is correct. it is in HyperlaunchHQ and HyperHQ. Also in the settings file. And as a result of this that the games do not work from within hyperspin obviously Would some one please advise me on what i should check futher? Thx
hyperdennis Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Ok, so probarly the database is wrong.. i've downloaded the xml database from http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/ and the snes roms are from a torrent from pleasure dome. What could i do to make my database OK?
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Visit my Facebook page... Maybe it could help if you look hard enough
hyperdennis Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 Yes, another step further in the ongoing configuration battle with hyperspin. I've used the excellent Don's hyperspin tools. What a great help. Now my database is sorted. All games are found in the audit and i can launch the games from the audit screen (launch with). But in hyperspin there isnt much launching going on. And i think my settings are correct in HyperHQ. What else could i check for errors???? thx
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Your extensions. Is that the file type you have, are they zipped or anything in your folder??
hyperdennis Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 no, they are not zipped. I think it was done by the renamer tool The roms are all .smc
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Yep then your good to go. What exactly is Hyperspin doing to let down the team? Not showing games , exiting out or not loading the roms? They launch ok in hyperlaunch?? Btw, you a RL user or a HL user??
hyperdennis Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 I use hyperlaunch. They launch OK in hyperlaunchHQ. I use the games tab > system audit > Launch with So no problem there... Im not sure what the trouble is in hyperspin. I select SNES in the main screen, all the games appear and when i select a game to start, the video pauses, nothing happens and when i use the mouse and click, the video plays on.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Turn off bezel and fade. See ifvtheres a pop-up??
woosdom Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 use a different emulator. I had issues with hyperspin lately so I decided to change everything to retroarch or mess. also had to reinstall hyperspin after one of the updates.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Eagle eyed as always I think that solves the case of the naughty Hyperspin!!
hyperdennis Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 that was it! I set the execution to hyperlaunch instead of normal... But i dont understand.. why is this different from (for example) MAME, which needs to have the execution set to normal??
hyperdennis Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 in my setup it doesnt launch with hyperlaunch... I have so much trouble with all these settings.. I read them but most do not make sense to me.
hyperdennis Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 i'm trying to do the same with PSX and Sega Dreamcast. I've got folder with roms which do not match the xml database apperantly, but the xml files for psx and dreamcast from hyperlist do not have this CRC info needed?? for the renaming tool. Is that correct?
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 You can still use tools for renaming. But be careful about renaming compressed files as the file within will still be the original. Often its worth just finding a better named set. However, PS1 can be a bitch to get the right names for, "redump" are a good set and close to the file names
