Retroarch 1.2 savestate key?

Is there a way to either use a key, or map a key to savestate slots in the new retroarch?  Like, in mednafen it's really easy to use hyperpause because you just have to send a keypress to start the save process, and send a keypress to hit the number of the save state.  All I see in retroarch is the menu bar where you can select a savestate with the mouse.

Yes. In the retroarch.cfg there are settings to change the save/load state buttons. Open that file and search for input_save_state. You will see all the setting for loading and saving state there.

There's a new Retroarch? What changed? Will I still be able to keep all my config files?

 

What's this issue with save states? Are they not working?

i have no issue, i am just starting to get into retroarch because of the nice fancy new version.  But I just wonder about how to do hyperpause with the save states.  like other emulators.

I'm also curious about controls and per-core configs, and how to use it all with RL.  Because I want my console controllers to be used for different cores.  like nes controllers for nes games as an example.

Yes, version 1.2. I upgraded and all my confit files seem to work fine.

Yes, you can do this. You can use the input binding tool or manually edit the files. I have a post here that tried to highlight the steps.

nice. guess i should post over at rlauncher about how to have a core launch up through RL so i can play a system instead of just going into Retroarch.
