C_Wilson009 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Hey guys, I just got an aimtrak lightgun for my arcade cabinet. (which is pretty sweet btw) It seems to bring up my windows mouse pointer unfortunately, and in game if I click outside of the screen in MAME to reload, it makes that windows "ding" noise.. Is there a way to get rid of this? thanks
C_Wilson009 Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 So are you saying you get the normal mouse icon in game instead of whatever the crosshair symbol or whatever should be in the game? ya, but when I hover outside of the screen, like the bezel area
C_Wilson009 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 My cursor shows up in Hyperspin as well. I don't think its because of my aimtrak because if I move the mouse, the cursor shows up
Spawk Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I have not setup or own any aimtracks so forgive me if this is redundant. But I beleive the aimtracks are installed and recognised by windows as mice. Individual games can take the cursor and display a "crosshair" of their own but only within the game screen (it cannot render crosshairs on the bezel). So this sounds like normal behaviour to me. The "Hide Cursor" option in RocketLauncher also allows for loading a custom cursor but I believe this is on a system basis not per game... not sure, never messed with these settings either but I would like to know too for if/when I do setup some guns. The actual re-loading of weapons is another issue altogether. Some games will just refuse to configure right for offscreen reloading in which case I believe you can set 1 of the buttons on the gun for reload. Hopefully someone who actually has these set up can chime in more.
C_Wilson009 Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 The Hide cursor option is nice to get rid of it. Thanks for that! It doesn't however fix the problem. To clarify, the aimtrak does emulate a mouse, so its not the gun. Its almost like Hyperspin is running in windowed mode, but not? I dunno lol
Spawk Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 If you are using bezels, then it is technically a window... if not, then I am not sure what to say. Do you have more than 1 monitor? HDMI to TV?

Spawk Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Yes, they are installed as mice and will look as such everywhere, we covered that. When running the game though, mame does not like you going outside the window? Which you are doing if you are using bezels. Try disabling bezels and run in a true full screen. If that fixes it, you'll know the bezels are the culprit. Sent from my SGH-I467M using Tapatalk
C_Wilson009 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 ya you are right, the bezel is making it work improperly. I made an alternate emulator for gun games that stretch to widescreen. My new problem is, how do I keep bezels for MAME, unless i select a gun game that plays my alternate emulator?
Spawk Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Bezels on/off are more or less tied to wheels. You may have to create a separate wheel for gun games. Sent from my SGH-I467M using Tapatalk
C_Wilson009 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 damn, I suppose so.... I wonder if anyone has made a database for just mame gun games?
guyverjay Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Rocketlauncher allows you to turn bezel on and off per game ( I know because this was a feature I requested lol)
C_Wilson009 Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Rocketlauncher allows you to turn bezel on and off per game ( I know because this was a feature I requested lol) oh? how do u do that?
guyverjay Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 oh? how do u do that? right click the game in the game list in rocket launcher UI and choose game options, from there you can switch bezel on or off for that particular game
C_Wilson009 Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 right click the game in the game list in rocket launcher UI and choose game options, from there you can switch bezel on or off for that particular game that worked great. Thanks!
ScoobaSteveo Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'm having a similar issue with trackball games. Will give this a try. Thanks for the pro tip!
scoodidabop Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Is there a solution to keeping the bezel on and removing the "ding" error? For example I'm playing Tempest where the spinner also acts as a mouse and every time I go to the far left or right and press the 'click' button to fire I get the 'ding' issue. If possible I'd like to keep the bezel on tempest and other spinner games but remove the 'ding' when clicking outside the screen. Any ideas?
speedracer50 Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 i know this topic is old but i can't seem to find a fix for it anywhere, has anyone come up with a fix for this yet?
