Here is post on RetroArch forums but thought maybe someone here could help me. http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3743 I had similar struggles and made a post about this in the Rocket Launcher Forums. I have an IPAC 4 but it should be the same for you. Read that post and if you still have any questions let me know. http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?1421-RetroArch-Input-Mapping-for-Keyboard&p=13076#post13076

pofo14 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 That's what I did, just in case I ever wanted to vary it by system. I started by testing just using the retroarch.cfg file, so I know that works also. Since these mappings really won't change by system you could probably just have one file to make it simple.

Looking in my \config folder I have a lot of stuff there. Not sure how this all ties together yet. Just looking at say Sega Genesis I have a Sega Genesis.cfg and genesis_plus_gx_libretro.cfg I would love to simple this down some.
pofo14 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Are you using rocket launcher? Rocket launcher will create a cfg file for each system. From what I saw in the logs it creates it the first time based off the retroarch.cfg file, so if that had your mappings setup u should be good. As far as the genesis_plus_gx_libretro.cfg, this is most likely getting created automatically by RetroArch because you have per core config set to true and save config on exit set to true. I turned both of those settings off. Essentially I let RocketLauncher load the <system name>.cfg file which has identical keyboard mappings for each system. I have no core level cfg files in my directory. When I get home tonight I can review my directory and settings one more time and we can compare notes.

This has been driving me nuts. I just built this awesome 2 player bartop and MAME works but I would love to get my other systems working like they did using Xbox 360 controller.
pofo14 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Yea, I have my cabinet setup a few years back using all different emulators which I mapped the keys to match the ipac. I finally get a new desktop so I am updating / verifying my setup on that before copy it over to my cabinet. Leveraging RetroArch wherever possible was one of the main changes and have most console systems working. I don't have Lynx (handy core) or 3DO (4DO core) working. Handy crashes and 4DO just has a black screen. I will PM u tonight so I can email you all my configs along with a sample of the module config in RL. I will also send u my IPac config just so you can translate the cfg to that so you will know how to set it up for your ipac setup.

I am VOIP here so no charges. Love it.
rmilyard Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Messing around with it some and seem to kinda have player one working. Not completely sure. One button seems to put system in turbo. So player 2 need to figure out also. But getting player 1 right first! However when use down on player 2 joystick puts RetroArch in Full screen looks like so bezels are messed up.
pofo14 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Ah turbo, I assume u have space bar as one of your buttons.... There are some keys/buttons in the retroarch config that are special functions (such as turbo, next shader, etc) that may be mapped to keys you are using in you ipac config. I went through all of them and set them to 'nul' figuring I would never use them or could access them via the RA menu if required.
