brownvim Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Just completed this game, never had a GameCube and I read the remake was made well so thought I'd take time out setting up hyperspin and enjoy some games. Iv played it on the PS1 already but I couldn't believe how good they remade the game, all the artwork, the subtle changes to the puzzles, new areas and the bits that make you jump (alot more) are amazing. I honestly didn't think the GameCube was that good (had a PS2 at the time), I underrated it. Gonna play Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes when I have time as its meant to be a more polished version too compared to the playstation version.
dark13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Yes, RE is a really good game on gamecube. Also RE zero isn't that bad on gamecube. MGS indeed has some addition on gamecube BUT you need a really good cpu to play it fullspeed on a pc (a bit too slow to be enjoyable on my q6600). It has also some glitches on dolphin Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
chartwel Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Yeah a game i will not forget they did an incredible job on the remake.
Pyramid_Head Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 The remake is awesome! I've beaten it a couple of times since 2002-2003. Did a speed run with Jill about a year or two ago on Dolphin and unlocked the infinite ammo rocket launcher. Zero is just as good imo. I've had my copy since it came out.
brownvim Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 @dark13 I played the 1st few minutes of MGS and it ran fine for me, I have an overclocked i5 4.2ghz and a GTX 580. Thanks for the link, I didn't know about this in-depth compatibility site, ill be sure to check out RE Zero, never played it. @chartwel It is definitely up there with one of the best games I have played. @Hunk_4TH I did it with Jill on the harder difficulty, took me 13 hours! I was thinking after did it really take me that long? maybe i left it running when i was away from the PC lol. All i ended up unlocking was the new costume key for Jill, hard difficulty and a new mode which changes the way the item box keeps stuff. I decided to keep Barry alive but i checked out both scenarios, he has that beast of a gun Magnum 44.
gadget2k Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 @dark13 I have the same cpu and you are right it's that good for the dolphin. I plan on getting an i5 or i7 for my next build. @Hunk_4TH you said you beat it on the dolphin what are your pc specs? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hypnoziz Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 "You were almost a Jill sandwich". <em class='bbc'>"But does one ever truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of Fate, and thus defy the tyrannous stars."</em>
