byancey Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I'm running HyperSpin 1.4 and the latest version of RocketLauncher. I'm running from an SSD and HyperSpin runs pretty snappy once it's loaded. Very smooth spinning through the wheels and animations start as soon as I pause on a game. However, for some reason there's a pretty significant lag betwen when I hit the button to launch a game, and when the RL fade screen kicks. The delay is on the order of 4 to 5 seconds. During this time, HS continues to respond to input, so I can even navigate through several other game screens before the RL fade screen finally pops up giving confirmation that my key press to launch the game actually was detected and the game is indeed launching. Curious if this delay is normal in HS or if it's something specific to my configuration. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -- Bryce
goldguitarguy Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Check your duration settings under fade general in Rocket LauncherUI,set it to a lower number. Set both delay and exit delay to 0
volumetric Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Having your log set to troubleshooting can also extend that pause.
Metalzoic Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Having your log set to troubleshooting can also extend that pause. Ah, thanks! I bet that's what caused this in mine. I recently got a slight delay there, but I also recently set it to troubleshooting... It's stuff like this that makes me mad there's no good core documentation on this stuff.
byancey Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 I set the delay to 0 and turned off logging and that seemed to help a bit. I've got a pretty consistent 3 second delay when launching games. Still longer than I'd ideally like, but short enough that you don't constantly wonder if the key press registered. I think what also may have helped a bit in my case was disabling Windows Defender. The system isn't connected to the Internet during general usage, only when I'm doing maintenance, so I figure I can get by without a virus scanner for the majority of the time.
