demonseed Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hey So I found a work around for PS2 where it was flashing a window on exit back to HS. I had to turn on BEZELS. I am trying to make a all black bezel but have the screen of the emulator be normal size. I am not understanding how the bezels work and how to resize the emulator screen on to it? I understand they are in media/bezel/sysemname/_default. I placed a black PNG in the folder...... and there is a INI, however It keeps showing the emulator screen tiny. I did use a GBA bezel as a template, but I am not understanding how to enlarge screen? Is there a how to for bezels? Also where do I download them>? thanksjim
gigapig Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I have a video guide on how to set up bezels but not on bezel creation. What we did when converting the Mame bezel media was to create a transparent bezel the same size as your screen and name it "Bezel - transparent (potts43)" The ini for that bezel would have coordinates like 0,0 & 1920,1080 and it's needs to have the exact same name as the bezel. With all that being said you should not need to create a transparent bezel at all because in the bezels options there is a setting called "Use Full Screen Bezel" enabling that should have the same effect. I know this all works for Mame but I'll also test PS2.

I put it into media/bezel/sony playstation 2/_default.. it worked with the original and with my black one, however the game screen is not resizing to 4x3 or to fit my screen? I tried the above but it is not making the game screen larger? I have bezel full screen set to true. Also any where to download them? I checked the downloads and I am not seeing a section Thanks Jim
demonseed Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Hey So I download the one below.. works great.. however I still have a larger than desired border below the emulator screen and above. I am not sure what the issue is. I tried setting the first two too zero but it loses the bezel on one side or makes the screen off centre and smaller? I just checked and my screen here is 1440x900.. could that be the issue? I have confirmed the bezel works. but trying to maximize screen. I thought this would be easier. I tried changing the bottom two numbers too 1440 and 900 but the emulator is still small. I am wondering if it is a setting? I checked PCSX2 and I had it at 640x something, so I changed it to 1440x900 but still does same thing. I also noticed that there the bezel is not taking up full screen. I am finalizing my testing on this PC then going back to my TV.. which could change everything. http://imgur.com/WKM8ABI [General] Bezel Screen Top Left X Coordinate=240 Bezel Screen Top Left Y Coordinate=0 Bezel Screen Bottom Right X Coordinate=1680 Bezel Screen Bottom Right Y Coordinate=1080
demonseed Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 WHen I turn them off , my ps2 looks fine.. leaves about inch on either side but is full 4:3 screen. Ok So I resized a black background to 1440x900. it works now BUT when I exit PCSX2 still flashes the window.. before exiting.. Errr.. when I used defaults... it did not do that. I thought the bezels would hide that window on exit
gigapig Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I did not know your screen was 1440x900. Does Fade out not hide the flashing?
demonseed Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 HeyNope fade out does not seem to work. I have tried and tried. You hit ESC to exit, it flashes the emulator window then exits. If fade out is on, then it flashes the window and quickly flashes the fadeout screen before returning to HS. I was farting around with bezels and noticed it hid the flashouts.. BUT like I said the screen for the emulator is tiny and not how it is if I run it with no bezels. Maybe I just do not know how to use fade out right but it seems very easy. turn it on.
gigapig Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 How about using the hide emulator setting or setting up an exit emulator key that is not ESC? You can now set an exit emulator key per system.
demonseed Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 I have tried the hide emulator it did nothing. The exit key I will try, but I think I did in the past and it just does same thing.. I will give it a go.. *I tried remaping.. I followed directions but it does not do anything? I tried single click and hold, but it Wont exit. I have never had that work well.. I tried in PS2 and Global wont work does nothing. I am guessing there is issue with it? I tried it in NES and it worked, ps2 it wont work... no matter what I set it as. only ESC is working. I can remove all PS2 and retry but I recall editing the module in the past... is there a way to just download the module? I will backup mine and restart fresh
demonseed Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 [General] Bezel Screen Top Left X Coordinate=1 Bezel Screen Top Left Y Coordinate=0 Bezel Screen Bottom Right X Coordinate=1440 Bezel Screen Bottom Right Y Coordinate=900 Well I did the above and it works! (Can't use the PS2 bezel, I just use black screen.. but it works. if you make it 0,0 it flashes the window? weird.... not sure what will happen when I go to 1920x1080. thanks Jim
gigapig Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Well I'm glad you got it sorted; I've tried turning bezels off and fade in & out on and off but I don't see any flash, so I guess it's just different PC's
demonseed Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 It suddenly stopped working.. when ever I exit a game in PS2 only, it flashes the window box of the emulator before returning to HS.
