after configuring Hyperspin with load of emulators have any of you other guys started collecting old retro consoles again?

Since playing games on my Retrocade I have started scouring ebay for bargains in the retro console / computing departments.

after all i find playing the game is far better on the original system, than on an emulated one...

I currently have picked up the following systems:

Commodore Amiga 1200 (+ internal CF card loader)

Commodore 64 (+ external SD card loader)

Microsoft Xbox (modded & HDD)

Nintendo 64 (+ Everdrive SD Cart)

Nintendo Gamecube (modded)

Sega MegaDrive (+ Everdrive SD Cart)

Sega Mega CD

Sega Dreamcast

Sega Saturn

Sony PSOne (modded)

Sony PS2 (modded & HDD)

the sad thing is that I have previously owned all of these consoles when they originally came out... I'm still undecided whether to pickup another SNES, Jaguar, Vectrex, Coleco Vision, intellivision, master system & 3DO

You're not alone. For me it has evolved more about the nostalgia of collecting the games I used to have rather than actually playing them. It's a fun addiction/hobby
