Vanbo Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 So, I am having issues with my key mappings and trying to exit games. In Hyper HQ, I have the exit command mapped as 6. When I'm using hyperspin, 6 works fine to exit hyperspin and back up in menus. I went into Nestopia and mapped 6 as my exit key in these emulators as well. However, when I go into hyperspin, launch a game in Nestopia, and then try to exit, using 6 does not work. I have to use the default escape key to exit. I then go back into nestopia, and I see that the change in key mapping did not save. It's really strange, because everything else that I map saves, except for the exit command. When I go into mame and try to setup an exit game key, I don't see anything in the controls that say anything about an exit game command. Is it something in my emulators that I need to be changing, or is it a hyper hq command that needs to be fixed?
Vanbo Posted October 18, 2015 Author Posted October 18, 2015 Well, I never did figure out what the deal was with that, but I made it easy on myself. Just went into my ipacs setup and remapped one of my keys to be the escape key instead of the 6 key. Now everything works no problem!
Metalzoic Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Well, I never did figure out what the deal was with that, but I made it easy on myself. Just went into my ipacs setup and remapped one of my keys to be the escape key instead of the 6 key. Now everything works no problem! Glad it works. I've always kept my exit key as ESC and never had any issues. However if I remember right the newest version of RocketLauncher has it's own mapping for the exit key (which defaults to ESC). I'll see if I can find that info for you. EDIT: Here it is, from the RLauncher 1.0.13 release instructions. Maybe this was your issue? RocketLauncher updated to v1.0.1.3 http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?1697-RocketLauncher-v1-0-1-3 Major note: Part of this update, you must reassign your exit emulator keys to the Global system. Until you do that, the only key that will work is Esc (the default). From there you can customize your exit keys per-system if you like.
