Managing Games

How can I chose which games to display as for instance in Mame?  I went into the database directory for mame, opened the XML, and for the games I do not want shown I changed "yes" to "no" in enabled, but the games are still shown on the wheel.  For instance, I want Pacman to be shown only, and not Puckman even though its the parent rom.  Also how can I change the order of the games?  I'd like to put together all the Pacman games (Jr, Ms, etc).

The easiest method without going through the entire xml is to have your wheels sorted (delete the unwanted ones or better yet, move them in a subfolder) and then tick the "wheels only" filter in HyperHQ.

As for sorting the games to your preference you will need to enable XML indexes (also in HyperHQ) and move the games around in the XML-file.

Best way is all with the database. Having what you want in there and what you don't not. You could delete the clone info for ones that you want to show and they will when parents only is checked

There are some tools out there to work with mame databases.

Jeremy's right... use Don's Tools to make a custom database for each wheel.

That's true, completely forgot about Don's tools. I guess my solution would work for smaller systems but not so much for a database which contains some 9000 entries. Well it could but would take a lot of work.
