gr0bda Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I'm trying to set Exit & Start from my panel, but I just get very rather erratic pattern, that I have no idea what it depends on. I went to HyperHQ and under: Controls>Keyboard I changed [Exit] from "Esc" to: "2" + "CONTRC" + "O" and [start] to: "1" It works in the main menu and the wheels, but once I'm in the game I have to hit "Esc" on they keyboard. Once it exits then I can use the keys assigned (not always though! Once it managed to show me choice in red box that said to exit press "Esc_Kbd" or something to that effect!) Also when I hit "Tab" to enter the MAME menu, I used to be able to hit "Esc" to immediately return to the game. Now it if I hit "Esc" while in the "Tab" menu it exits to Hyperspin, but the game is still playing in the background and I can't get back into it. I have to shut down and restart Hyperspin. How to fix it all?
JayC Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 He means they have "nothing" to do with the emulator controls. You have to change the exit key for rocket launcher or hyperlaunch (depending on which you use) I believe.
gr0bda Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Ok, thank you for your answers. How about setting joystick to go up or down in the HS menu? When I enabled joystick instead of going up or down by one spot it goes by 2 or several. I couldn't even get to aim it for a particular menu because it would always go either too high or too low.
Guest Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Yep, use joytokey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gigapig Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 In RLUI you can set an exit emulator key either globally or if your set up is up to date then on a per system basis. This can be a keyboard key or keys or a button combo, whatever you like. It is not recommended you use esc as some emulators use that to switch between windowed and full screen. HyperSpin 1.4 should have fixed the wheel moving erratically, if you don't want to use that then do as the other guys have suggested and use a keymapper.
gr0bda Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Thank you for all the answers. I have made all the necessary adjustments. I think I also have figured out weird and erratic behavior with the Esc key. It looks more and more like the ledutil.exe is messing things up, after flashing the keyboard LEDs. Most likely after playing Monkey Mole Panic even though it's not an Atari game it flashes the LEDs and I finally noticed the keyboard is all messed up, Caps Lock LED can sometimes be off even though letters are capitalized or I can't type after finally managing to exit a game, and I have to restart the computer to regain the functionality. You can mark this thread as solved. I just can't give any particular individual the credit they all deserve.
