snstay
So i was messing around with that new Dons hyperspin thing and tried creating a XML. Got it to work but it only has the rom name and not the description or year or players you know all the other stuff. Do i have to manually put that information in or is there a diffrent method? Thanks

SIMPLYAUSTIN
Yeah guys TRY and use official up to date Databases as much as possible. I know its hard as people like to keep them for their own fetishes sometimes, but hey, thats off topic. If you make your own databases you have the same issues Agent47 said above. Not nice to have no info as to me it all looks unfinished and if you have a random set of names of roms, looks like crap when you boot them or list them. It may look like the easiest way to get your Roms to work but it then has somethimes even more issues later down the line.... If this is say for example a Nintedndo 64 set. You got a full set from somewhere and your excited to play them all. As long as they all work, hell its all good. But then you place them, link em to rocketLauncher and its all red. Easiest way to get around this now is make a XML from the names you have. Pop that XML in your folder and boom... all green! You can now play all the games you have. However, then when you go into HyperSpin you find theres no wheels for your games showing up... you now have to rnemae all the wheels. So you jump in and start playing again... boom, no vids... rename again... boom no thmeses for games... again... no boxes... again .. no carts. ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS!! for every game theres around 4 other sets of art that need to be renamed for it to show too! So best way is to use the official XML... for cart based systems its much easier to re download a full set of roms that match as its small enough to re download. Then everyhting is standard and all art will work..easy! If however you got a Full Dreamcast set and they are all named wrong... well then you got to thing, should I rename every disk image or should I re download the set and wait forever for it to do it hehehe. Naming in HyperSpin is a pain in the ass, it seriously needs a scraper or HyperSync to be padded out with more art sets. Of course all my waffle could just have been for nothing if your just on about making a PC game wheel.... then you really do just make your own most of the time and add the details as you go along ehehehe

kylecp1979
You might have to put some of them in manually I don't have that setup on my cab.
