Rotgut Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 As in, the awesome female voice to "read" "1942 by Capcom... released in 1984... this game was the second installment of Capcom's popular World War 2 Shooter series... etc etc" Where do I enter this text? Also, how do I get the voice to read this during a fade? Currently, all I have going on with her voice right now is "Loading..." and "Loading Complete."
gigapig Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 That text will be coming from the history.dat file and I'm not 100% but I don't think that is implemented into RL. With mame you want a little bit of fade and then the game to start quite quickly, what you don't want is a lenghy game bio being read out. I have a feeling what you're referring to is Hyperspeech which is used by HyperSpin. The game bio is read when you land on a game with info in the mame history.dat. Let me know if that is incorrect. By the way, it would be cool with larger games which take time to extract, but after a while it may become annoying. Perhaps some lift music while you wait would be better.

Ah, yes - THAT is what I heard on someone's HS setup. You are right; it is very cool but during a load screen, I think it would be overkill. But I think I will check this out for the wheels - when you land on a game. Is hyper speech hard to set up?

The loading and loading complete sounds are 2 .mp3 files that are triggered when the loading process begins and ends. This is a question better suited for the RL forums because fades are an RL feature but I think they'll tell you the same thing. Gotcha. Right, makes sense. Thank you for the info!

Sadly it does not work properly with HyperSpin 1.4, only sub wheel info is read out. Greetings and main menu no longer work which is a shame because the lady used to tell me how handsome I looked everytime I started HS.
