BootstotheMoon Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Some games that I've been playing recently while testing my first stab at Hyperspin have caused the screen to (like the title of this topic says) stutter, and sort of freeze up, and then I finally get the CPU to react by doing a Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Worse yet, when I get booted or have to end hyperspin, It turns the display of my screen so I then have to turn my head sideways, or work really hard to get the mouse to the display options so I can turn it back right side up. Has anyone heard of this? I haven't seen a topic regarding this particular problem. A couple of the games I noticed it happening with were the Street Fighter games, and WWF Wrestlefest. I haven't really stopped to play many games because I want to get this completed, but those are the two that stand out to me. I'm not sure if it's something in the computer's graphic properties that are causing that issue, or if it will even happen once I get past the setup portion and get to testing it on monitors. If this seems new or strange, I can take a video and upload it to youtube tonight at some point, or take some shots of it happening. Thank you for reading this and possibly helping an aging gamer get back at it.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Sounds like you have been going wild with some settings there mate. Did you install this HyperSpin Yourself? What systems have you installed and is it happening with all systems and games? Simply Austin's YouTube
BootstotheMoon Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 I did install it myself. I have MAME, SNES, Genesis, and NES right now. From what I've experienced in the short amount of playing I've actually been able to do thus far, it's only been in the MAME games. Wrestlefest was the first MAME game I downloaded to just try and get it to take in Rlauncher, so once I finally got everything working well together, I booted it up to mess around for a few minutes, so it's been happening since the first MAME Rom. Before I really started getting into the messing with ini settings, and becoming the tiny bit more familiar with what I'm doing.
BootstotheMoon Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 To quote the SimplyAustin video I watched this weekend JESUS WEPT Agent47 That's probably what it is! How stupid of me not to realize that! I didn't change any of the visual settings, I don't think, at least. All of the SNES and Genesis games that I've tried out were just side scrollers(low intensity on the button mashing), but both street fighter 2 and wrestle fest had me jamming on Ctrl, and Alt with the arrows constantly. I'll be humbled even more so, yet happy if that is the solution to this issue. I'll report back later tonight! Thank you guys a ton!
BootstotheMoon Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 I'm fully prepared to change the button mapping a bit tonight, play for a while and mark this thread solved on account of an idiotic oversight on my part. Thanks again!
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 That's top notch fault finding Agent47, I would not have looked at that first. Great call and happy gaming to you both Simply Austin's YouTube
Tribe Fan Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Ctrl + Alt + any of the arrow keys will rotate your screen in windows. I don't know if you're accidentally hitting that, but if not it will at least spare you some neck pain so you can switch it back to normal (Ctrl + Alt + Up) while troubleshooting. Since it only happens in Mame it may have something to do with your video settings in Mame specifically. Are you using the default config or have you altered any of the video settings (like HLSL or GLSL)? You may also want to try using a different driver for mame (d3d, gl, ddraw) to see if that fixes anything so you can try and narrow the cause of your issues. Yep, this happened to me once using xpadder with mame on my laptop. I fixed it by disabling hot keys from my graphics card settings. Lol, I was scratching my head over this too.
