HyperSync Not Working for Nintendo DS

As the title states, when I try to sync anything for DS it says no new media even though I have no media to begin with. I downloaded the covers in the download section but they are not named to match the DB like they do when downloaded with HyperSync.

Any advise? Maybe it is just broken?

Thanks

It's been a while since I checked but it's likely there just isn't an officially minted set uploaded for sync yet. Sync's a really awesome tool for doing a speedy setup of a lot of the most common systems but anything more recent will take some time to be added to the server. In the meantime, you took the best course of action by grabbing what's available in the download section. FatMatch or Don's HyperSpin Tools are two programs that can help you quickly and painlessly rename all of your art to match your roms/xml.

Personally, I only use sync for a quick setup then I go over a system again, searching the downloads, forum, and ftp for box/cart/letter/wheel/pointer art and any newer themes until I'm satisfied. I google "Hyperspin <system name>" for either "downloads" or "artwork type" and it eliminates a lot of the leg work. This usually yields positive results for even systems that have been in HS for a long time, as managing Sync is a huge task so it'll never be 100% up to date relative to the work that's being done on a daily basis.

I did quite a few before I figured this out. I tried it just to see what would happen one day and found that it actually worked. Then I kicked myself for not trying it sooner after wasting a bunch of time doing them by hand lol.

Same. For me it was a weird case of laziness too, where I was comfortable with doing things the way I knew. There are some things I'm still glad I did by hand but in general I wasted a lot of productivity v.v;

last year or the year before, someone updated the Db site

http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/

before the updated the XMLs where separated by their completeness:

minted final = Official

WIP = Un-Official

Un-official XMLs did not have any artwork in available via Hypersync.  Even though you could find plenty of artwork in the FTP and download section.

when the DB site got an update allot of WIP XMLs where moved to Hypersync,  again with no official artwork available.

Don't be surprised if you find more systems with no artwork available via Hypersync or bad XMLs.
