level42 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 So, I'm looking to hook up an GameCube controller to play games through HyperSpin, however, I'm struggling to figure out how to map the inputs for this. The GameCube from my understanding uses Analog and Digital inputs. And from my experience with JoyToKey, I have been unable to mimic the correct controller performance. For example. The Analog Stick should feature acceleration based on how far it is pressed, and the triggers are also pressure sensitive, and should vary based one how much they are pressed.I can replicate this function by configuring the controls directly into the emulator, but is there not a way to mimic these features using a KeyMapper? JoyToKey seems to be fantastic at hanging onto my controller configuration, where as the emulator configuration is a bit sketchy. JoyStickKilla Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 That's why some systems can only be played with their original controllers to get the 100% experience
Spawk Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Keyboard keys (like the arrows) are either on or off. There is no way to emulate the precision of analog controls through a keymapper. That's why it is always best to configure controls in the emulators themselves. Jtk should only be used for things the emu can not do from joystick (exit, screenshot, savestate, hyperpause).
