idolwild Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Worked fine on other ROM's, but when I try to run even a limited number on MAME ROM's in crashes out - anyone have any ideas? I tried it on several versions and I do have the latest MAME list.
Circo Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Why would you want to rename mame Roms? That's just asking for trouble ___________________________________ HyperSpin Website Admin Team Also Visit EmuMovies.com
idolwild Posted July 6, 2013 Author Posted July 6, 2013 Good question. I was using Don's tools to give the ROM's pretty names and then using his list generation tool so that I can filter a decent portion of the 8000+ ROM set that I don't want on the machine. If you can think of a better way, I'm all ears.
idolwild Posted July 6, 2013 Author Posted July 6, 2013 Now that I open up the HyperList XML for MAME games, it appears they reference the short names I already have - I guess I don't need to rename them after all...
Krakerman Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Make backups always when ever attempting renaming is what I have learned.
emb Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 The ROM renamer was not intended to rename MAME roms, and therefore it was not tested for that system. Thankfully the HyperList XML files provide a nice user friendly description rather than the cryptic MAME files. Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk HD %5BSIGPIC%5D[/sIGPIC] Download HyperSpin Tools and check out my MAME cabinet
