SkyHighGam3r Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I am trying to get SSF to 16:9 stretch fullscreen when booting from HyperSpin/RocketLauncher.I can make it do this with no problem when booting straight from the emulator. However, as soon as I try with HS/RL the stretch option is unchecked. I have to Alt+Enter and go to options, re-check it, and Alt+Enter back to the game. However, it always defaults the stretch option back to nul if i use HS/RL at all. Stretch is only saved if I boot directly from SSF.I have played with the module's .ahk file, the modules .ini file, the global module settings, the SSF.ini in my SSF directory... and I'm at a complete loss. I set everything to stretch, but it refuses to comply.I know some of you guys have confirmed it working as this came up in a separate topic, but I didn't want to totally hijack someone's thread.I could really use some assistance on this one.
kylecp1979 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Have you tried using retroarch as an option? It uses a similar emulation most games Emulate ok. Just a secondary option if you get to frustrated.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 I tried out that Yabuse core, but it is really far behind SSF. Sonic R was completely unplayable it was so broken. I'd love it if the guy who made SSF would just let the project go open source. It's not like he's working on it anymore lol, but wish in one hand...I'm thinking I'm probably just not setting this up right. I'm not familiar with how modules really work... really the only other module I changed was RetroArch's so it would boot the reicast core, and I made it automatically load fba_libretro instead of fb_alpha_libretro, and also Picodrive instead of Gens (Because picodrive will automatically detect what kind of game I'm running, where as the gens core would tell me I had to plug in a genesis game or something when loading 32X. Which wasn't too bad... the only problem I ran into was one random 32X game I had to setup in fusion as an alternate, as well as DeCapAttack, because it controlled like it was on the Nomad...Anyway I digress, I'm not sure exactly what the settings need to look like to be fullscreened and stretch on boot.the module mentioned creating a 'default.ini' but doesn't mention what would need to be in there.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 You shouldn't have to change anything in the module code itself to get it working. You should only need to set the Stretch option in the module settings in RLUI. If you changed any of the module code that may be why the module setting isn't working. Is that the global module settings? Is there a way to revert the module file?
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Yes, the Stretch option is in the global module settings. There is not a way to revert the module back to normal if you have modified it that I'm aware of. That's why if you are going to attempt to modify anything in the module you should make a copy of the original so if anything goes wrong you can just restore it. However, I don't really recommend that anyone modify the modules in general unless you know what you're doing. I can send you a copy of mine if you modified yours and don't have a backup. That would be awesome actually cause I'm not sure at this point what I played with. I'm usually so careful to make .old backups of everything too.

Ok I deleted the messed up module, and the ini with it. Put the new module in and set global settings to stretch (and set the bios so it would stop giving me the folder path error) My ini looks like this: But whenever I launch the game it's in that small box (I can't screenshot it) with letterbox on all 4 sides and my TV says 800x600 on it. Then I alt+Enter, and go to settings and see this: I can click that box and exit the emulator, but no matter what it always reverts it. But if I open SSF on it's own, set the stetch, exit and then launch game directly via SSF it will do it.
wesfranks Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Probably not a solution, however, this works sometimes. When you started the program outside of HyperSpin/RocketLauncher to set your settings, did you right-click it and open it as "Administrator"? At times, some emulator's settings will not stick unless you take this step. Also, after altering your settings, properly exit the emulator through the menu system and close/exit rather than just hitting the "X" button. Usually just adjusting the settings in the module is enough, but I have found a couple of emulators that enter a full screen state only after being loaded and override the module settings. Can't remember which ones exactly, but Project64 sounds familiar.

I gave it a shot, but no dice I checked the ini in the emulator's dir, and when I save the setting after doing the stand-alone launch, the stretch option shows 1. But as soon as I use RocketLauncher to boot a game, it switches it back to zero. I'm no longer at home so I can't test this ATM, but do you think setting the ini in the emu's dir to 'read-only' would keep my settings from being altered?
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Sometimes... Ideas really ARE crazy enough to work:Pulls up perfectly now!
