FrankyRizzo Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Does anyone have an idiots guide to mess core in retroarch.. I have been trying for 3 days and nothing I do works. The only progress I made was getting a new mouse after I threw my old one. Im trying Atari 5200 first but would like to set up other systems as well. I cant make it work in RetroArch or RocketLauncher so naturally not HS either. Any help would be amazing.
kylecp1979 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I don't remember exactly how I got this to work. I remember it being very tough to get going but this post helped me out http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/6751-mess-bios-retro-arch-problem/ Here is a video too
FrankyRizzo Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 I tried using that video. But its to setup using it on Emulation Station. I followed most steps and it just wont load any roms no matter what I do. Cant load through RetroArch.. Cant load through RL either. I get an AHK error. but im sure thats just because I have things setup wrong
Styphelus Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Better off using Mame. Runs a lot smoother too. Using the old version of Retroarch, it was easy to setup Mess but they had to change the damn thing. I haven't been able to get it working either but when I tried it with the old version, it was clunky and slow.
FrankyRizzo Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 That seems to be what everyone is telling me. That probably explains why there are no setup videos for it haha.
FrankyRizzo Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 I just like how RA automatically maps to controllers. I will keep playing around with it. Maybe I will accidentally figure it out lol. I did manage to make things work in the newest MAME. So I know i have a good bios and rom file.
kylecp1979 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Yeah I don't know I got this going at one point but didn't really care for how it emulated and went back to mess. Sorry I couldn't help you out
