HyperSpin will not start and HyperHQ has mangled text

Recently, my HyperSpin collection stopped working for me. It was working at the end of June, but when I have tried to start it lately, it just doesn't work.

When I run the HyperSpin.exe, it shows in the taskbar and the mouse gets confined in a area of HyperSpin display resolution, but nothing else happens. I have tried overwriting the executables with the newest versions, but nothing changes.

HyperHQ also doesn't work, but in a different way - the UI is all mangled (see screenshot) and unresponsive. I don't know if it is connected to previous issue.

No, I am running 1.3.0.0. I tried to download the latest versions and replace the files but that changed nothing, so I reverted to the original executables.

Someone knows the answer to this problem? I just encountered the same.

Everything worked fine until this morning. Suddenly HS does not work anymore and the HLHQ has mangled text just as described above.

HQ launcher still works and all the games are playable through HQ launcher

No changes or alterations were made by me when this occured (I was just playing with Touhou project)

I am in the progress of 99% of my arcade machine and then this happened...

I too am experiencing the mangled text for Hyper HQ. I am using a fresh install of Win 7 on a new computer with the latest HS file.

If anyone can provide a solution for this I would be most grateful.

I had a similar problem,

I think it was my antivirus, avast to be precise. once I turned that off, reinstalled HS, HQ everything was back to normal. I had the AV running in silent mode so didn't get any warning that it was messing with HS

Are you running the newest beta 1.4 HS? If not then plug in speakers or headset.

I'm running 1.3.2.0 and the issue was resolved after disabling the firewall/antivirus and reinstalling.

I had the same exact thing happen to me last year, after I installed GIT to get the new RocketLauncher install.  I did a system restore point to before I installed GIT, and that got rid of the jumbled up hyperHQ.  Weird stuff.
