Serious mame confusion mame pros needed

Hello again people im not very well used to mame but im having issues the roms i have are legally obtained yes but issue im having is i guess apparently structure The Punisher and alien vs predator refuses to work i have a large collection of roms but i dont want all of them in my mame or hyperspin as many are dupes so im trying to run Punisher world and avsp in my main root mame folder with the collection mame .149 everything works but when i put them in the collection for hyperspin im building it tells me im missing stuff i assumed bios so i copied over every bios i needed and have from my main collection also (where the 2 games wor) and still it tells me im missing something i then went into main collection and moved out every avsp and punisher file that wasnt world they still worked in that one but not the new collection im honestly confused i have no idea what its talkiing about is there a site of a database per rom and its required files? both mame versions are the same both mame directorys have the same bios im so irritated by mame right now my head hurts!

Please someone help me understand this all my mom roms are updated and right to Mame .149 as they work in the main collection but not in the Custom build

Edit: Worse Case Scenario i will have to settle for the mega drive and genesis versions but there has to be something im overlooking or it wouldnt work on either directory install

punisher and avsp both run great....if mame says your missing files and your using mame .149 your roms need to be updated to .149 also. roms always need to match mame if not you can run into a lot of issues.

Wow you didnt read anything i said did you... they are .149 the mame client is .149 the names are correct it runs fine on 1 directory not fine on the other.. both being the same versions i was more of aiming if anyone knew a site that had a database of what files are required beside said game i have punisher.zip which is (world) and every bios i own in the rom folder with it if you want me to be anymore specific 2 mames both same versions in 2 different folder 1 has 28,000 Roms 1 has some bios and some carefully selected games in it (Punisher runs fine in the 28,000 file 1 does not in custom folder with all bios in both in first folder there is only 1 file named punisher.zip same with second but it runs on the first not the second idk if thats what a parent is called i have no idea why. this post is here cause i dont want a hyperspin tab with 28 thousand games so im trying to figure out what files i need or how to find out

You never need a dat for mame as it's built-in via the listxml command. Use clrmame and load the mame exe into it, It will build a dat file for you and you can scan your roms folder that way. That will let you know if you miss anything.
