rfancella
Craig, For Thayer's Quest: The game is operating correctly. It's asking you to enter your name. The voice is speaking back the letters you hit. I found this resource: Daphne Wiki: http://www.daphne-emu.com/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page How to start the game: 1: After I launch Daphne, I wait for the animation to start. 2: I hit 5 and then 5 again to enter 2 credits 3: After a short pause, I get the scren that reads "Insert more coins for more time" or something, & the voice says to press any key to continue. At this point, let me ask if you can hear the synthesized voice--I had trouble w/ the voice being quiet for a while (which I think I solved by turning up the volume). Make sure you can hear it--you should hear it speak some nonsense line (about a laser disc self-test?) when you first see something on-screen 4: I hit key 1 (any key on that keyboard pic ought do...) 5: the voice asks me to type in my name. I type J A S O N, then I hit F3 for "enter" 6: the voice speaks my name & asks me to confirm it. I hit 1 for "yes" Then animation starts & the game is on! craiganderson
thanks. im sorry to be so clueless about this stuff with regards to GP World,,, but i have no idea how/where to go to "change the hardware acceleration" thanks craig
rfancella
Craig, I don't know if that's the problem or not. But in DaphneLoader, select GP World and click on Configure on the right. In the Video tab, you can change the Hardware Acceleration. Then try to run it through DaphneLoader. Let me know what you see.

rfancella
That sounds like you may have a bad ogg file? Also, I see a green box on mine as well. I believe it's looking for a graphic of the tracks that are not there. The only one that works for me is to enter coin and hit start with the green box in the upper left corner. I get much the same as you in the way of log, but without the ogg error. The game runs and plays fine, but the audio is not there, even though I don't get that ogg error. rfancella
After some additional research I have found there are two different games. The one Craig has is Laser Grand Prix. The other is called GP World. They are two completely different games. That could be the issue I have been having with the video. I am running Laser Grand Prix through Daphne as if it were GP World. Both Craig and I have LGP. When I run the GP World video/audio files, they run correctly. Laser Grand Prix may have gone by the wayside like Goal-To-Go. Just some FYI, Ron

That sounds like a framefile issue. Where are your framefiles located? Run the game through DaphneLoader and post the Daphne log. Then run it through HyperLaunchHQ and post your HyperLaunch log. Here is a post that explains how to post: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?31072-The-HyperNoobie-Guide-For-Posting-To-The-Fourm It would be helpful to post what version of HyperSpin, HyperLaunch and the Emulator. Thanks, Ron

crashdogy
HOLLY @$%@ % %$#@ GOT IT Working!!!! This is the working log from Dahpne running in hyperspin. Unfortunately not sure how I did it, but I think it was the framefile which looked like this .\ 4666 gpworld.m2v 51210 gpdiags.m2v and I changed it to . 4666 gpworld.m2v 51210 gpdiags.m2v But also when thorgh HQ and launchHQ and check all setting, could have maybe reset some thing by trying to use hyperspin in normal mode and then changing it back to hyperluanch in HQ. Maybe a hyperspin guru can tell from log file what I did and help the next poor soul. Thank you so much rfancella for your help on this. --DAPHNE version 1.0.12 --Command line is: D:\HyperSpin\Emulators\Daphne\daphne.exe gpworld vldp -blank_searches -prefer_samples -noissues -fastboot -fullscreen -x 1024 -y 768 -min_seek_delay 1000 -seek_frames_per_ms 20 -homedir . -sound_buffer 2048 -framefile D:\HyperSpin\Emulators\Daphne\framefile\gpworld\gpworld.txt --CPU : GenuineIntel 3300 MHz || Mem : 4096 megs --OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 --OpenGL: Compiled In --RGB2YUV Function: MMX --Line Blending Function: MMX --Audio Mixing Function: MMX Setting alternate home dir: .
