Trnzaddict Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Hey guys. So my Crapintosh laptop logic board took a dump and quite frankly I'm not spending 300 dollars to fix a unit from 2007. So A friend of a friend is selling his laptop for 725.00 flat. It's a clevo but ibuypower branded battalion. 15.6 inch 1080p screen 2nd generation i7 2.3 ghz Turbo up to 3.4 ghz 180 gb ssd 8 gigs ram Windows 8 (obviously getting formatted if I get it) Nvidia gt670m It's in excellent condition but being sold AS IS, no warranty no refunds. majorspawn Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 well if you use Dolphin as an example this might not be enough to run all games fully. Everything else seems to be smooth as. I'm using a evga 790i ultra, high end ATI 68xx something 2gb, 8gb ddr3 and a quad 3.4 and some games still jitter at times, 120GB SSD, win 7 pro x64 seems like a good price for a laptop, Is this going inside a cabinet? would i use a laptop in a cabinet? probably not... hard to upgrade later, would i use a faster cpu, most definitely, pretty cheap now days. if you look at my cab i ended up using up 9 usb ports all up, with a laptop you would be limited perhaps? how are you going to power on the laptop once its installed in the cab if your planning to go that way... you cant exactly connect a wire to the power jumper in a laptop, on a motherboard you can easily.
