Amiga 500 Launch Error

I guess I'm doing something wrong. I was able to get CD32 working (not in full screen though) through WinUAE, but when launching an Amiga game I get the following error:

Cannot Find D:\Arcade\Emulators\WinUAE\HDD\WHD

What am I missing anyone know? I have all available Kickstarts set in my configuration (I still have my original a500 kickstart disk from many light years ago).

Take a look in my signature, there is a CD32 guide using WinUAE. That should help with your full screen problem.

A little more info on the A500 error would be good. Post logs? What's you setup?? Are the games WHDLoad games? Post some screenshots of your HLHQ setup.

I'm not using WHDLoad Games. As for setup not exactly sure what setup you're referring to.

One or two more things please. Post your D:\ARCADE\Hyperlaunch\HyperLaunch.log, not the HyperLaunchHQ.log.

Change your Logging Level to Troubleshooting and post the new log with CODE tags so they are readable. To do this,

Start the log with [ CODE] only don't put a space between the [ and the C.

End the log with [ /CODE] only don't put a space between the [ and the /.

Repost your log so it looks like this with CODE tags:

Another thing to try is to unzip the rom, rename the zip file (I use .zipout) and try to launch the game, see if it shows up in your audit.

Also, I followed you guide on CD32 to a tee and it still won't open in full screen. I think it have something to due with the configuration name, I don't know. I can quicklaunch CD32 in full screen, but that's it.

Ok,

About the WinUAE error. Just create the directory it's looking for and it will get past that.

So, create the directory:

D:\ARCADE\Emulators\WinUAE\1.6.1\HDD\WHD

and see where that get's you.

For the CD32 full screen issue... Did you do this??

Navigate to H:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\Modules\WinUAE. I copied the three files (Commodore Amiga CD32 (Example).ini, Amiga (Example).ini & Settings (Example).ini) and renamed them as shown:

You can edit these files to reflect any changes per game you want enabled. If you would like your game to be displayed in full screen mode, open up the Commodore Amiga.ini file and change Fullscreen=false to Fullscreen=true. For explanations of what the other two ini files do, read them please.

Also this:

Navigate to the emulator directory H:\HyperSpin\Emulators\WinUAE and open up winuae.exe:
...
Next, click on Display on the left. Make the appropriate changes to this screen. I, personally, set my second monitor, changed to Fullscreen...

The setting I found that seemed to make the difference was here (this setting seems to over ride the other two:

If your global setting is Full Screen true, the above should work. If it doesn't change it to true.

The black screen usually means a bad WHDLoad.key file. But the OPCODE4 prefetch error has something to do with the x20 CPU debug??? My rom runs fine. Might try a different rom of the same game.

okay a bit of progress, I unpacked a ton of kickstarter roms into the bios folder. All different types and varieties from the Tosec collection. The faulty prefetch error is gone also the white mouse cursor. Still the screen is black. so it maybe a kickstart rom problem. anyone got a pack of them that is working on their system so I can replace the ones that I have to test this? thanks

If you have just a black screen, it's probably the WHDLoad.key file.

Many users have had this problem and it usually turns out to be the WHDLoad key file.

Welp, I changed the whd load key. With the files from whdload.de....mixed and match. Deleted everything...replaced it with the new files. And still black screen on quite a few games. Including weird dreams. I reverted to my original setup because when I added the new whd load files other games that worked previously stopped working. Thoughts? Ideas?

You are welcome to try what I use, I certainly don't have the black screen issue with Weird Dreams.

However as I write this, I do vaguely remember I had the same issue, maybe with a CD32 game.

I'm pretty sure it was a display setting issue. I'll check and post a screen shot.

I tried relicating the problem this morning, but no good, mine continues to work beautifully ; )

The trouble with troubles is when you don't want them you get them and when you want one you can't get one.

Maybe the files I pm'd will help.
