Rocket launcher rom settings for daphne

Hello all,

 

Complete newbie here so bear with me. Recently purchased a prebuilt cabinet that was preloaded with hyperspin and rocketlauncher. I am trying to configure rocket launcher to launch an alternate rom version of dragons lair for daphne.

 

This is what i have done so far

 

place the alternate rom version of DL in the roms folder. (dle21.zip)

go Rocket launcher > daphne > emulators tab > edit global module settings > rom settings.

 

Heres what i understand i need to do.

i need to add a new rom setting that points rocketlauncher to the alternate rom version of dragons lair.

 

so that said:

 

1) Am i on the right path using rom settings to point to an alternate rom version.

2) only the form fields that i edit will over write the default global settings. i.e. i dont need to fill out everything like bank0, bank1 etc.

3) this rom settings will only affect dragons lair.

4) what form field do i need to edit to point to the alternate rom version. I am assuming home dir?

5) what directory/file do i need to point to within the rom settings.

Welcome to the forums. I will do my best to answer

 

1) yes

 

2) there are default values for the banks/sound but some games will not run with those defaults. Best to tell RL exactly what each games params are.

 

3) yes, you did select "lair" from top list? each game has it's own settings 

 

4) no, the "version" field is a simple dropdown list.

 

5) no directing, just place roms in /daphne/roms/ folder and use dropdown list from above.
