HS launches fine but won't pull up systems wheels

So I launch HS, no problem, the intro video comes up.  I press CTRL and the systems wheel populates no problem.

I can scroll through the systems but anytime I select one, it seems like it'll work but it bounces right back to the systems wheel.

Also, Sega model 3 is the last system I had loaded so it starts there.  Anytime I try to select a different system, it bounces right back to model 3 on the system wheel.

 

And, when I press ESC, it just pauses the artwork/pauses HS.  In order to exit HS, I have to press Alt+F4.

 

I believe it could be a settings issue in one of the .ini's but just to note, I didn't change or mess with anything.

I'll bet the farm its because you havent got speakers plugged in.

If you can't enter any of the wheels it's likely because you have the roms only filter on and haven't correctly set your rompath and extensions in HyperHQ. I'm not sure what's causing the exit issue though. What version of HyperSpin are you using and did you make sure that Escape is set to Exit in HyperHQ?

Thank you agent47 for chiming in.  Everything was set fine.  Ron helped me get model 3 going which it did perfectly.  I shut my system down, restarted and that's when I noticed this problem.  As far as setting HyperHQ up properly, everything should be good to go there.  In HyperHQ, where is the "Roms Only Filter" setting?  I'll check it.  I figured this might be a settings issue, that something small got changed and now HS doesn't quite know how to load the systems/wheels...??  And my HS ver is 1.3.2.0

So, volumetric, please let me know where I can send you the farm and the millions of dollars it's worth because, you're a genius.  I haven't gotten speakers for this system yet and I had a set of headphones plugged in which I re-purposed/unplugged.
