Just wanted to first say thanks for all the wonderful things available on this site!

 

I'm 35 years old and grew up with the best generation (IMHO) of video games: Sega Master System, NES, Super NES, Genesis in terms of home consoles and many wonderful arcade games that took a lot of quarters out of my family's budget (Double Dragon, Shinobi, Altered Beast, Midnight Resistance, SF II, MK, Super Sidekicks, Golden Axe).

 

Got into the emulation hobby a few years back and finished my first arcade cabinet last year, it was an amazing project in which I was able to spend quality time with my father, have plenty of laughs, a few arguments (when building something there are always moments of disagreements), and the end result was a nice arcade cab which the Misses of the house insisted goes in the living room!

 

For the first project I jused Maximus Arcade because I was very initimidated by Hyperspin - it looked so amazing yet complex (multiple themes, videos, photos, etc. etc.) thus I stayed away from it.

 

Now I started work on my 2nd cab (based on an MK type design, yet slimmer thanks to LED monitors) and decided to take the 'plunge' and go for it with Hyperspin and I couldn't be happier!  Thanks to this wonderful site and all the awesome material I've been able to put together a very nice front end.

 

Just wanted to say thanks a lot once more!  You're keeping the hobby very active and strong!  I wish I could contribute more to the site but I'm not really the technical type of guy > maybe I'll partake in more recreational types of threatds/convos.

Welcome to the forum.

 

I was the same many moons ago, I installed HyperSpin didn't have a clue what I was doing and too scared to post for help so I went over to Maximus. It wasn't till I build my control panel that I forced myself to get HyperSpin working. Now I'm stuck here, can't find the exit. ;)
