Winkawaks not showing fullscreen :(

I'm using Winkawaks to launch NEO GEO titles.  My configuration is with RocketLauncher and Hyperspin - latest versions.

 

However, I can't seem to get the titles to launch full screen - on the left and the right of the game window remains the Hyperspin backdrop theme.

 

Any ideas what I need to do?

I had this same problem before I never found a solution so I just use mame to emulate neo geo.

This problem doesn't exist if RocketLauncher is not used.......so there must be a config detail that is missing to resolve this issue.

I think it has something to do with Winkawaks rocketlauncher module. I had this same problem I even tried using the same version the module mentions in the notes and I still had the same problem.

 

I just used mame it emulates everything winkawaks does.

I didn't even know Mame can be used for Neo Geo - thanks. Any special configuration I need to do?

You just need the neo geo bios and your roms need to match the same version of your mame.

Maybe a dumb question, but how can the Roms be made to match the Mame version?

I use clrmamepro to update my roms.

HyperNewbie: THANKS!  So just to recap what I think I understand.  Assuming I'm using MAME Version 0.171 and I have a set of ROMS that I got from somewhere, I would use the "Clrmamepro" application to make all my existing ROMS to the version of my MAME 0.171 by downloading the Clrmamepro compatible DAT file that's made for MAME version 0.171 correct?

Thanks Kyle:  I find that most of my MAME Roms work as is even if I try a different Mame version.  But for the NEO GEO ones, only 4 work, so I guess I have to try out this clrmamepro application.

 

I"m still a bit unclear of what I need as far as the DAT file.  I just need to find the MAME 0.171 DAT file for NEO GEO?  Thanks again.

Or you could just go download/update your romset to match your version of MAME. And from then on anytime you update MAME just update your roms & chd's at the same time.

Personally that's way easier for me than messing with dtas, clrmamepro etc...

I kind of found a solution to this today.

Its not perfect but it does kind of work.

 

Basicly in Winkawaks set the screen to 300% zoom and have a little tinker with the window ratios.

I still have a tiny amount of red on the sides of my screen but its only like a 1 or 2 pixel border and is not distracting.
