Exiting Emulators without using the keyboard ESC button

I just got ePSXe working within HyperSpin.

Once ePSKe is launched. is there any way to program a button (or combination) of buttons on my controllers (Logitech) to exit the game?

OR

Is there a button on my X-Arcade controller I can program to perform the ESC function.  Usually when I am in the emulator playing the game, the X-Arcade controller is not functioning.  I use the X-Arcade to navigate around in Hyperspin (and for old arcade classic games).

Thanks for any ideas of how to exit an emulator like ePSXe and return to HyperSpin menu without having to get my keyboard and hit the ESC key...

Yes it's pretty easy you just go to rocketlauncher then global then under the settings tab look for controls exit emulators key. Then just add and capture your key or keys you want to use to exit back to hyperspin.

Kylecp1979,

I tried your approach since it was far easier and was able to configure/assign the side button on my x-arcade controller (button '3') to exit the emulator.  However, when I am in a game and use it, the screen will go back to HyperSpin but the game will still be playing in the upper left hand corner in a smaller window. I hit it again and nothing happens. Everything hangs and I need to reboot.

Spawk's tutorial is very well done and a lot more complex of a solution.

At the end of the day, I really just want to map the keyboard ESC key to a button on my X-Arcade controller.

Seems like a lot to do just to enable this functionality - but I'm game if this is the only way it will work.

When I use the keyboard ESC key is works perfectly (kills the game and returns to HyperSpin) - but I would prefer not having to reach for the keyboard each time want to end a game.

Thanks!
