eidern Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hello, I've started installing my mamecab with hyperspin with the help of your tutorials, I've downloaded here a pre compiled version of Mame 174 in 64bits with hi scores and forced directinput. Everything is working fine under hyperspin. But now as i'm trying to play with the HSLS settings i'm seeing that there's no mame.ini file, just an UI.INI file with few UI settings. not even all the directories that I was used to when you made a mame install (artwork dirs, etc..). Under rocketlauncher, in mame.ahk I've set the use HLSL to true. EDIT: I guess that my main problem is that I'm under win10, I have directX12 installed. Because no matter what mame version i use, i never get the hlsl settings to work.. Does anyone got a win10 with mame and HSLS working?

You can create ini by going to mame64 root directory in cmd prompt by typing cd\ then enter then dragging mame directory into cmd prompt then type mame64 -cc you should now have ini in mame directory
griffin518 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 You should install DirectX11... you'll need it for HLSL. Also, why not go to 0.175? It's a much better version. 0.174 has some major bugs. Metalzoic Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Yep. Skip 174 completely. Seriously. 175 is great though. And I only ever run mameuifx which creates the mame.ini the first time you run it. Normal MAME doesn't do that? not even all the directories that I was used to when you made a mame install (artwork dirs, etc..). This sounds like you just dumped an exe file in without going to get all the other folders it needs. For example if I update to a new mameuifx no nag build from here, first I go get the full download (with all its folders/structure) for that version from the official site and then I replace that .exe file with the one from here. Otherwise I'd either be missing files or have the wrong versions. (always keep a backup of your previous working build/ini's/cfg's of course)
