Abqshark Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I've tried several xml tools to edit my mame.xml file into a manageable list of the games I want to play, but a few programs including Don's won't even see my roms. I have directed to to the roms file in HyperSpin/Roms/MAME and the auditing tools are also in the Hyperspin folder and I set where it is to search for the roms correctly, but it doesn't see them. Do they need to be from a particular rom set or something? Thanks for any helps, I'm pretty sure it's a simple step I am missing. I have scoured many videos on the matter such as Simply Austin's and Don's and haven't found a solution.
Metalzoic Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Point Don's to your XML, not to your roms. Make sure you're using the exact XML for your Mame version, Roms and CHDs. So for example it you are using MAME 171 with the correctly matched 171 Roms/CHDs then you must also be using the matched 171 database. If your set is mismatched in any way I'd say you need to fix that first. Then just plug your database into Don's List Generator, customize it and export the XML database you want.
