ROMs and .XML mis-match. HELP!

Hi all

 

After a very long lay off from getting Hyperspin fully set up on my HTPC, Im back trying to pick up where I left off.  Once problem I have encountered so far is my Amiga set up.  I have my boot rom in place and can launch games from within WinUAE.  However, whenever I try to launch them from within Hyperspin, Im presented with the "Cannot find ROM blah blah blah" with the correct name.  Basically, my .xml doesnt match my ROM set.

 

Now, I apparently have 4278, although some of these are disk 2, 3 or even 4 of the same game.  However, some are just not named correctly or at least as the .xml has them named anyway.  So, my question is 2 fold really.

 

1)   Do I have to somehow combine the games with multiple disks into one ROM somehow or can I set up paths to look for disk 2, 3 or 4 as required?

2)   Is there a tool I can use to create an .xml file based on the ROMS I actually have and if so, will that be fine to use in Hyperspin?

Sounds like you have an incorrect ROM set. As for creating databases theres a package called Don's HyperSpin Tools http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/11125-dons-hyperspin-tools-43-beta-significant-rom-renamer/

 

which has a program for that in it, just remember to back up your old one. 

 

I would recommend trying to get a ROM set that matches your database (one that has all the discs for each game merged into one file it will save a few headaches when setting up WinUAE)

Many thanks for the help on this.  You were right, my ROM set was incorrect.  Followed the Simpy Austin video and am pretty much up and running.  I just have one slight problem with art work placement in Hyperspin but I will start a separate thread for that.  Thanks again, much appreciated.
