timburon Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Brand new here and I would appreciate some help. When I first started up Hyperspin, it worked well, but at some point, all of the audio shut off. When I go into the games, the audio is fine. Its also fine in Rocketlauncher. Byt with HS, no wheel sounds, videos are muted, etc. I think it must be a setting somewhere, but I can't figure out where. Any suggestions?
gigapig Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Go into HyperHQ and check the sound settings. Also go to your system tray and check that Hyperspin hasn't been muted for some reason. You may have to do that in windowed mode or tab out. Welcome to the forum.
timburon Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 Thanks for answering, but the sound works everywhere else but in Hyperspin! Movies play fine by themselves, just nothing when Hyperspin starts. I did a spearate fresh install of hyperspin in another directory, and that works fine, but I don't want to remake all of the wheels!
tcmt Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 just copy your media and database folder to your new installation, that might do the trick. otherwise did you check hyperhq's sound settings like gigapig suggested?
timburon Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 No luck. All of the sound boxes are checked. Its like Hyperspin is muting until Rocketlauncher takes over. I've tried comparing all of the ini's I could find for HS, no differences. I don't want to start from scratch!
tcmt Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 well if it isn't a windows thing either, the only solution can think of is copying your media and databases from the installation that has no sound to your new installation that has sound. that way all your wheels and stuff are just at your new installation. simple enough. !but please check your windows volume controls again like gigapig suggested: start hyperspin, alt-tab out to get back to the desktop, right click the little sound icon on your task bar and click on mixer. in the mixer find hyperspin and make sure its not muted or very quiet!
timburon Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 That was it!!! Thank you so much. I didn;t even know that little trick, or that windows could mute osmething individually! Thanks to both of you for taking the time to get this right. I was at it all day!!!
gigapig Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 You should left click the volume control which will bring up the mixer and show HyperSpin to be muted.
