SuperGario Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hi, I've got several custom XML lists that reference a subset of the complete rom sets. I'd like to use the XML list I have as the data to copy out the roms to another folder. This especially imperative for the larger sets such as MAME since going through 25+K files to copy the 300 or so I've selected is going to be somewhat laborious. I've been through the utilities and none I've found seem to offer this functionality. Is there a way to achieve this or should I just suck it up and go through it manually? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!!!
SuperGario Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 I don't know if there's an app with the exact functionality you want but there are some that will do the reverse of what you're asking. Assuming you have the system setup in RocketLauncher Rom Folder Cleaner will move all of the roms which don't match your xml to another folder, leaving only the ones that do. I believe HyperTools has the same kind of functionality and there may be others but Rom Folder Cleaner is the only one I've used myself. That's perfect. Thank you!
tpedge Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 @SuperGario I'm working on a utility that will do exactly what you asked for in the first post, plus some other functionality. I'm hoping to have a test version available by next weekend. Edit: oops, didn't notice how old this post was.
