Kwestone Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 This is totally boggling my mind. If i go in and change the coin and start. It creates a configuration file in the respective place. However if I change the normal button configurations. The default.cfg isnt updated, yet the settings are saved. Was there a change to how things were saved? I mean, the new mame doesnt have any files whatsoever, so I am completely stumped on where to find this. Thanks! Matt
JoyStickKilla Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Are you setting general inputs or the specific games inputs?
gigapig Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 On 0.175 and 0.176 the default.cfg is blank unless you make a change to Input General. When you run a game a new cfg will be created but this will remain blank until you make a change to "This Machine". Some interesting new additions to 0.176. The popular crt-geom and crt-geom-deluxe shaders have been ported to BGFX and are now distributed with MAME, thanks to cgwg. The BGFX versions of these shaders allow live adjustment of effect parameters through the slider controls menu.
gigapig Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Forgot to ask, what controller are you using? If using 360 or Xbone controller you can use the attached. XARCADE_XBox360x4.rar
Kwestone Posted August 28, 2016 Author Posted August 28, 2016 Thanks for the response! I downloaded your file. And I understand that I have to put this in cfg folder. Do I have to make any changes to the mame.ini file to get it to recognize it? Also, I understand what you were saying about the it writing to it for general inputs. However, I WAS changing it in general inputs. And I could see the changes for the other inputs start 1 and coin 1. However, when I made changes to the general inputs for player 1. The settings saved, however nothing was in the cfg. Thanks again for your response.

That file needs to go in the ctrlr folder and you then need to add the file name to the Mame.ini and any other ini files in the ini folder. Here's where to add it. # # CORE INPUT OPTIONS # coin_lockout 1 ctrlr XARCADE_XBox360x4 mouse 1 joystick 1 lightgun 0 multikeyboard 0 multimouse 0 steadykey 0 ui_active 0 offscreen_reload 0 joystick_map auto joystick_deadzone 0.3 joystick_saturation 0.85 natural 0 joystick_contradictory 0 coin_impulse 0
