Help with zinc games

Hi guys, so I tried to setup zinc today and I cannot get it to work. RL is telling me to run zincfe but I get a DLL error trying to run zincfe to produce the necessary zing.cfg file, so I setup zinc to use mame but the games look like crap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe have a look for psxmame. I think it runs all the same stuff as zinc (maybe more from memory) and the setup is the same as mame. Psxmame will allow you to use the same video plugin zinc uses, think you can even use epcxe plugins. Been a while since i set it up.

psxmame question.... do you have to use specific zinc roms or can any mame set work?

You may need an older set as psxmame hasnt been updated in a while. Unless no updates have occured to the specific roms you are using.

yeah, I just got a zinc set (older roms) actually has more games than I was running from my mame set. Zinc setup pretty easy for me... I still can't get psxmame to work but what I've noticed with zinc is the games looked way better than on mame.... I know it's the filtering but in my opinion zinc was pretty crap looking in mame. for me it's definitely worth having zinc as a separate emulator instead of using mame. I'll continue to play with psxmame.. not sure which is better out of the two (psxmame or zinc) but zink works so that's all that matters to me.

The one advantage psxmame had over zinc was the ability to better control the screen aspect. I prefer running games in the original aspect. I was never able to get zinc to run without horizontal stretching.

Recently my zinc stopped working always stuck at RL loading screen.  Dont know why this happening.

Tried using MAME , but not getting any sound either.

psx mame is what you want.. the games run in mame but look better in psx mame.
